Dear Friends,
it is a pleasure for me to take over the complex task that Paola has passed
on to me. I am honored to belong in the Inner Wheel, even more when I
think that all of you have believed in me, and have wanted me Editor
of District 209.
The Editor is the “narrating voice” of the Clubs. She interprets our events,
our many encounters, our services, our memories, and she translates
them into words and images. However, this is not enough yet, words
and images must have a soul, they must talk to the readers and
communicate them emotions, feelings, and soul states. However, not
always text and communication coincide, that’s why I believe that the
Editor must be able to link together stories, information, experiences,
finding the right way to share them with others.
It is an honor for me to live this experience with the wonderful Friends
of the District Committee and with our District Chairman Antonella
Roncarolo, a special person with undisputed qualities.
From July 1st the new year started, charges have changed, and I am sure
that Clubs are full of ideas to organize meetings, contacts, twinning,
cultural events and services.
I will always be near each one of you, and I will be available to solve any
problem. I wish I will have with all of you serene and friendly relationships,
because I am convinced that working in synergy is more productive and
effective than working alone!
This year, we will edit our online Magazine: “The Voice of District 209”.
Furthermore, as asked by our District Chairman and fully shared by all
the Members of the District Committee, we will also edit a paper Bulletin
that will be sent to all Club Presidents, in order to give them constant
updating of all the initiatives promoted by our District, and more.

The aim of the Magazine and of the Bulletin is to construct a long distance
web of relationships so that all Members will receive information. Joining
of the online publication with the traditional paper version means being
able to meet the needs of all the Inner Wheel Members.
I joyfully wish all of you, my dear Friends, a happy vacation and a
serene summer!

Greetings from the District Chairman
Dear Friends,
this summer edition of “The Voice of District 209” marks the beginning of
the 6th year of our Magazine. Our Magazine, or as its name says, our
Voice allows us to communicate our stories, our dreams and our projects
to the world.
I am particularly fond of this Magazine because in 2012, together with the
unforgettable Chairman of District 209 Anna Rita Struzzi, we thought of
creating this online space for all the Members of our District and
Association.
In these years the Magazine has grown and improved also in its graphics.
This year I would like it that it could again represent “us” – women that will
leave a trace.
I am sure that Marialuisa Evangelista, Editor of District 209, with her
grace and competence will give to our Magazine a personal touch that I
am sure you will appreciate.
I also wish to inform you that the Facebook profile of our District 209 is
ready.

Greetings from our
International President
Dear IW friends,
IW Greetings to you all, at all levels of IW administration. We start the new IW
year with New Zealand, with new hopes new avenues of service & friendship
and with a new look &new ideas. Ideas to change the way we serve to leave a
lasting Legacy.
IW is member base organisation at all levels and a service based organisation
with defined goals. We realise that the world understands what IW is and
what do we do. Each one of us is not defined by who we are but by what we do.
IW has been around for 93 years, and is growing each year, so much so that
this year the International IW celebrates its 50th year.
Whatever service work you undertake, be it education, improving sanitation
or building playgrounds, senior citizen homes, do these in such a way as to let
the world around you know your service and our drive to be the largest
women's service organisation. We are changing the lives of many by the service
we provide - in ways large or small but we are trying --- to leave a lasting
legacy.
If you want 2017-18 to be your year—do not sit on the couch and wait for it.
Go out, make a change. Do new things, throw away what you have been
cluttering — be it negative thoughts or people; be fierce; do not gossip; do
things that challenge you; learn empathy; Leave a Lasting Legacy of your
work for your community and promote the IW.
