POSSE ‘BIG 25’ RULES GOVERN ALL SHOWS
IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF EVERY MEMBER TO KNOW AND UNDERSTAND THE SHOW RULES AND CHECK POINTS.
YOU MAY ONLY APPROACH ANNOUNCER DURING DRAGS OR RING CHANGEOVER. NO RIDER OR REPRESENTATIVE
ALLOWED IN ANNOUNCER'S BOOTH, VIOLATION OF THIS RULE WILL RESULT IN LOSS OF POINTS OR FORFEITURE
OF JACKPOT MONIES FOR THE NIGHT. DISPUTES TO BE HANDLED AFTER SHOW.
 1. Riders age to be determined as of January 1, 2021 and provide birth certificate or drivers license as proof of age. Late entries will be ac-
cepted in the Show Office or Announcers Booth between events. Payment due at time of entry. The Barrel Committee* reserves the right
to decline any membership, entry fee and/or retain any entry fees.
 2. Points are Rider Responsibility. January-June point disputes will end 6/30/21. October-December disputes end December 15, 2021.
Disputes must be in writing by email, not during shows. A rider may ride more than one horse for points but only 1 horse/ 1 rider per night.
A second horse may be ridden for EXHIBITION ONLY at the end of each class. Rider must designate which horse will accrue points for
the Point Show at time of sign up. To qualify for year end awards you must ride the horse that was ridden in the most shows throughout the
year at the final show unless vet out and approved by Show Management. Riders must ride in final show to receive y/e award. Horses or
ponies led through pattern will receive ribbon and/or trophy for day of show. 1 horse/2 riders, if both riders from same family, only one for
    Y/E points.
 3. If less than 32 riders at a show classes must have 4 riders to qualify for daily award of gift certificate or trophy and ribbon. If class does not
meet this requirement, daily awards will consist of ribbons only. Full show gift certificates $10, class gift certificates $5. Severe weather, poor
arena conditions or lack of ridership may result in Show being cancelled at the discretion of the Board, Barrel Committee* and members. If
all divisions finish three (3) events, it will be considered a complete show with no monies returned. If all divisions finish two (2) events, the
choice of either double points only at next scheduled show or a make-up show rescheduled will be at the discretion of the Board, Barrel
Committee* and members. Points will be doubled for only 3rd division (Texas Barrels) and only for riders effected by the cancellation. Make-
up date would be decided at next Board Meeting or Barrel Committee* meeting.
 4. Proper show attire: Helmets are mandatory for all riders under 16 years of age both in the ring and while on horses outside of ring. Shirts
without sleeves must have collars. Collarless shirts must have sleeves. (No muscle cuts, raglan, or or cap sleeves.) NO MIDRIFFS OR
HALTER-TOPS. Shirts must be buttoned and be long enough to be tucked into pants. Full length pants, boots or approved footwear must
be worn. Questionable clothing is a cause for immediate disqualification or NO TIME, at the discretion of the Barrel Committee* IF YOU
QUESTION IF APPAREL IS APPROPRIATE - ASK before riding.
 5. If a horse is unable to continue due to injury or illness, the rider will be charged $7.00 for each event completed. If having ridden 3 events
before injury or illness, no monies will be refunded, as 3 events are considered a complete show.
 6. The Barrel Committee* may disqualify any horse/rider for cruelty or safety issues. All monies will be forfeited. Owners and Riders must
ALWAYS maintain their animals in a manner that is safe to spectators and other exhibitors.
 7. Riders must be ready to enter ring when announced. Riders have the choice to start their ride in the arena or from the alleyway.
 8. Riders will have a 60 second gate call to get their horse in the arena. The gate call is from the time riders' name is announced to the time
they go through the gate. If a rider cannot get through the gate in the 60 second time limit, rider will receive a NO TIME and next rider will
    be called. NO EXCEPTIONS.
 9. Re-rides will be allowed due to malfunction of the timer or other PBCMP equipment. No re-rides for missed patterns or broken tack.
10. No rider shall be tied, buckled or fastened in the saddle by any manner or means except by Velcro. Rubber bands may be attached to the
bottom of boots and stirrups area. Stirrups must be proper length for rider.
11. No dismounting of horses in any fashion once you've crossed the timer and still in arena. Unless event specifically calls for a dismount, you
    will be disqualified.
12. A 5 second penalty per barrel or pole knocked over. Hairpin barrel knocked over or horse out of bounds result in NO TIME. Any deviation of the
pattern or no forward motion results in NO TIME. If Barrel Committee determines rider intentionally knocks over apparatus, points will be lost
for the night. Once a pattern is set and division started, pattern cannot be altered. Only after a knock down can a barrel or pole be realigned.
13. Year End Awards presented to top 6 riders in all divisions. In the event of a tie, a run-off will be held at the end of the night of the last show.
An event will be drawn by the Barrel Director or Committee for the run-off event. The results of that run-off will determine the winner. To be
eligible for Year End awards a rider must have ridden in 6 of 9 shows and in 3 classes within their eligible division per show. Award choices
are those presented by PBCMP. Unless show is designated a Saddle Series, awarding of saddles will be determined by Board at year end
based on number of entries. There will be no upgrades to any year end award. Rider may choose to opt down an award but there is no
opting up. If you choose no award or award choices are not received by deadline, an award of a gift certificate of our choice will be given.
Pony and Lead Line not eligible for saddle, buckle award.
*NOTE* Point show riders or a representative MUST complete 6 hours of volunteer time at the barrel show only. Rider may choose
