VICTORIA PARK PRIMARY SCHOOL
AN INDEPENDENT PUBLIC SCHOOL Est. 1894
Victoria Park Primary School - Business Plan 2016 - 2018 page 1WELCOME TO VIC TORIA PA RK PRIMA RY SCHO OL
Established in 1894, Victoria Park Primary School has a rich history of progress and making a difference for
the children in our care. The School has an enviable, long standing reputation and tradition as being a valued
member of its community for over 100 years.
It is meeting the challenge of a changing demographic while maintaining its standing as a school where students
are able to achieve personal excellence with clear goals of becoming autonomous learners. In 2012 Victoria Park
Primary School was awarded Exemplary School status by the Director General of Education, Ms. Sharyn O’Neill.
Emphasis is placed on the development of the whole child – academic, social, emotional, physical and
behavioural, including a three way partnership – between the child, their parents and the school.
Our school population has increased significantly in recent years with almost half of the students coming from
a language background other than English. The school culture at Victoria Park Primary is happy, productive
and vibrant. Clear considerations of the social and cultural diversity of our learning community is constantly
considered and annually re-evaluated.
We have a committed, dedicated and supportive staff that work together to provide stimulating educational
programs. Our staff has high expectations of themselves and their students. Victoria Park Primary School is
continuing to shape the future of our children with a focus on collaborative learning in the classroom.
Our parents, School Board and P&C are a very important part of our school community. We are committed to
working together to achieve the best for our school.
As an Independent Public School we embrace the opportunities to enhance, enrich and empower our students,
staff and school community.

Victoria Park Primary School - Business Plan 2016 - 2018 page 4SCHO OL BUSINESS PLAN 2016 - 2018
The 2016-2018 Business Plan was developed in collaboration with the Victoria Park Primary School
staff and the School Board following careful consideration of, and careful analysis of, all school
performance data.
It sets out the school’s direction for the next three years and includes major initiatives and strategies
to be implemented in order for the school to achieve its clearly stated purpose of ensuring that all
students are successful learners, all teachers are high quality teachers and all leaders are highly
effective.
The Business Plan is supported by Operational Plans in key areas including literacy, numeracy,
science, information and communication technologies (I.C.T.), and student health and well-being.
These plans provide detailed planning and support the achievement of the Business Plan’s targets,
and are the link between teachers’ classroom plans and the overall strategic direction set out in the
Business Plan.
