In this book, you will find information about check in and
out procedures, house rules, some local
recommendations, and the important local information
you need to know.

Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with it.

location
The Golden Sands building is located at 10900 Coastal Highway, Ocean City, MD
21842. Unit 2213 is on the 22nd floor of the building.

From Baltimore: Take 97 S to US 50 E. Take 50 E all the way to Ocean City, then turn
left onto Coastal Highway and continue on Coastal Highway until 109th St. The
Golden Sands building is on your right (ocean side). (Alternate route: from 50, take
404 through DE to US 113 S, then take 113 to Route 90, which takes you into Ocean
City.)

From New Jersey and points north: Take 95, 295, or 495 to US 13 S/Rt 1 S. Take 1 S to
US 113 S. Follow 113 to Rt 90 E (Ocean City Expressway). Take 90 across the bridge
into Ocean City, then turn left onto Coastal Highway (Rt 528). Continue on Coastal
Highway until 109th St. The Golden Sands is on your right (ocean side).
From Norfolk and points south: Take US 13 N to US 113 N. Follow 113 to Rt 90 E
(Ocean City Expressway). Take 90 across the bridge into Ocean City, then turn left
onto Coastal Highway (Rt 528). Continue on Coastal Highway until 109th St. The
Golden Sands is on your right (ocean side).

checking in
Check in time is 3 PM. Early check in is upon request
and will not be granted if a guest is checking out
that morning; our cleaners need time to do their
thorough work. Early check in is a $75 fee if granted.

You will be provided your own unique keyless entry
code the week prior to your check in; this code will
only work during the duration of your stay. Please do
not share the code with non-guests of the unit.

Your assigned parking spot is #348. Please park only
in your assigned spot; only one car per unit is
allowed during peak season (Memorial Day – Labor
Day). If you are staying during an off-peak time,
parking is considered ‘open’ and you may park
anywhere.

Upon arrival, please go directly to the front desk of
the building. There, you'll fill in a registration form,
pay the $40 resort fee (this money goes directly to
the building, not the unit owner), and receive your
parking pass. Then you can go to the unit, unpack,
and start enjoying the beach!

house rules
While you’re here, please make your stay comfortable by following our house rules.

   •   Absolutely no smoking or pets. No smoking inside the unit or on the balcony;
       any sign of smoke in the unit will result in additional remediation fees upon
       checkout. No pets are allowed according to the building’s rules; any guest
       bringing a pet will be asked to leave by the property manager with no refund.

   •   Please keep thermostat set between 65 and 72 degrees. Our unit is on the top
       floor of a concrete building with glass walls facing the sun; it can get hot on
       warm days. In order to help the air conditioning system keep up and stay in
       good condition, we recommend that you keep the drapes closed during the
       hottest part of the day and use the ceiling fans to help distribute air.

   •   Additionally, please take note of the HVAC system’s limits and do not run the
       air conditioning or heat while balcony doors or windows are open (this may
       overwork or freeze the HVAC unit - you will be charged for any necessary
       HVAC repairs due to this).

   •   Please do not place hot pots, pans, or dishes directly on the countertop in the
       kitchen, as it can damage the surface.

   •   Please keep the door locked when you are not in residence.

building rules
As a Golden Sands guest, you have access to all of the building’s amenities, including
indoor and outdoor pools, deck, tiki bar, ice cream shop, gym, sauna, and more.
Please note that we are not in charge of building amenity hours or condition; if you
need more information about the pools or other amenities, please contact the front
desk at 410-524-5505. The building does have information posted about pool hours
and limitations, which may change seasonally.

Please observe building quiet hours as posted and observe all Ocean City noise
ordinances

Please park only in your assigned parking space; additional parking may be available
from the front desk on a first-come-first-served basis for an additional fee. Contact the
front desk at 410-524-5505 for more information.

Use of the pools, gyms, saunas, and other amenities is at your own risk. No lifeguards
are on site.

Luggage carts are available in the covered parking garage (through the doors at the
back of the lobby). Please return them to their designated location as soon as you are
done with them.

You may also use the Golden Sands building public wifi, provided as a courtesy to
building guests. Inside the unit, our private wifi provides a better signal, but wifi is
publicly available throughout the building.

how does it work
                  Thermostat is touch screen; simply slide the temperature bar
Heating/Cooling   on the right side up or down. (In season, thermostat is locked
                  between 68 and 75 degrees to prevent HVAC failure.)

                  Living room TV is operated using the smart TV remote (both
                  cable and smart TV functions). Please feel free to use your own
TV
                  media accounts (Netflix, etc.) but make sure to log out before
                  you leave! Xfinity remotes operate TVs in bedrooms.

                  Dual pot/k-cup machine. To operate pot, fill water reservoir on
                  left and use filters. To operate k-cup, fill separate water
Coffeemaker
                  reservoir on right. Manual for coffeemaker is stored in the
                  cabinet above it.

                  Express buttons instantly add time; otherwise, enter time and
Microwave
                  press start.

                  To turn on, press ‘bake’ and then hit the up button to set
Oven
                  temperature. Oven will begin preheating after a moment.

                  Use the black switch above the sink to run the garbage
Disposal
                  disposal; please run water in the sink while disposal is running.

checking out
Before you leave, please make sure to do the following:

   •   Wash, dry, and put away all used dishes, pots and pans, and utensils (please
       do not leave anything in the dishwasher);

   •   Reset the air conditioner to 72 degrees;

   •   Strip the beds, return any blankets and pillows used to the closets, and place
       any rented linens in the provided bag;

   •   Dispose of all trash in the building trash chute;

   •   Double check to make sure that the sliding doors are closed and locked;

   •   Lock the door on your way out!
