THE ELECTRIFYING MR JOHNSTON & BITE SIZE
By Robert Dawson Scott
Join us for this world premiere new play about one of Scotland’s
great unsung heroes - Tom Johnston. Once described by Churchill as
                                                                   11
the ‘King of Scotland', the play focuses on Johnston’s struggles to
bring light to the glens. Through incredible feats of engineering and
political manoeuvring, he sought to transform the lives of everyone
in the north of Scotland by bringing hydroelectric power to the
Highlands and Islands.
BITE-SIZE: informal script in hand readings of new plays and works in
progress.
Readings, encounters, questions and answers, feedback and chat
offer the chance to be part of the fun of the creative process.

highest level, to represent his country and to usurp the crown of his
school’s greatest hero: Leeds United and Scotland footballer Billy
Bremner. The schoolboy was comedian Phil Differ and his dream came
with a plan - to get into the school team, to impress with every game
and to eclipse Bremner’s incredible career through his own
spectacular achievements. Only one thing stands in Phil’s way –
mediocrity. Discover the fruits of Phil’s failure in this autobiographical

THE TAILOR OF INVERNESS
Written and performed by Matthew Zajac and inspired by the life of
his father.
                                                                        13
The Tailor of Inverness is a story of the impact of war on ordinary
people and families, a story of a boy who grew up on a farm in
Galicia (Eastern Poland, now Western Ukraine) and became a tailor
in Inverness, of how a life and an identity can be reconstructed.
Crossing the borders from Ukraine to Poland; to Russia to Iran; to
Egypt to Italy; to Germany to Scotland, this extraordinary production
tells the story of the tailor’s life and his son’s discoveries about his
father through music, poetry, imagery, storytelling and theatre.
“Matthew Zajac's moving performance is a triumph of evocative
staging and storytelling.” The Observer

SHERLOCK HOLMES THE SIGN OF FOUR
“When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains,
however improbable, must be the truth”
Crammed full of adventure, romance, comedy and of course one or
two rather brilliant deductions, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s The Sign of
Four is brought to life in this spectacular new stage adaptation.
When Mary Morstan arrives at 221B, Baker Street to request help
with the mystery of her missing father, Holmes takes the case and
                                                                           14
together with his companion Dr Watson, enters a murky world of
deception and trickery, unravelling a complex plot involving murder,
corruption and stolen jewels.
Original live music, stylish theatricality and magical storytelling
combine for an unforgettable theatrical experience. The game’s afoot!
