WHAT MAKES Y SUMMER CAMP SPECIAL?
Y Camp activities create a foundation for building emotional
intelligence and problem-solving skills in your child.
Y Camps are led by caring and trained youth developers who are
dedicated to bringing out what is special and unique about your
camper.
Integrating activity with nature is a priority that allows your
camper to experience how great it feels to disconnect from
electronics and connect with the great outdoors.
At Y Camp, your camper will gain independence, build confidence,
and develop a sense of responsibility for themselves.WEEKLY DESTINATIONS WELCOME TO THE Y May 31 - June 4 Join us at Botetourt Family YMCA as we kick off our Where in the World Summer Camp! We will begin camp exploring Botetourt County and all the exciting places around us before we begin our journey around the world! LONDON IS CALLING June 7 - 11 We're off to London, England! We will explore the city and some of the most popular landmarks, try new foods, and learn about the culture! Kids will participate in several STEM activities and create crafts to take home. ADVENTURING THE OUTBACK June 14 - 18 This week we will take a dive into Australia's Great Barrier Reef! We will explore and gain knowledge of the variety of life and ecosystems within the reef. We will also have fun with lots of water activities since we are visiting a country surrounded by water! THE WAY OF THE VIKINGS June 21 - 25 Hallo! Velkommen to Arendal, Norway. This week we will start our Norwegian journey in Arendal and continue throughout Norway to learn more about the people, culture, animals, and customs! FUN IN FRANCE June 28 - July 2 Bonjour Bienvenue à Paris! Welcome to Paris, France! This week we're traveling through France and starting in Paris! We will learn about the Eifel Tower, the Louvre, and Norte Dame and create and try popular french treats, and learn about the culture and people.

WILD ABOUT AFRICA July 5 - 9
This week we will begin our exploration of Africa in Cape Town, exploring African food and culture. Then,
we will put on our safari hats and take a walk on the wild side to tour the African Savanna!
EXPLORING THE EMERALD ISLE July 12 - 16
Our journey begins in Dublin, Ireland, this week. We will explore the rugged landscapes, unique cultural
offerings, and learn about ancient Celtic history and mythical tales! Along the way, we will create fun
crafts, incorporate STEM activities, and even look for gold!
HAWAII-Y-O July 19 - 23
Aloha! Join us as we travel to all the islands of Hawaii! We will create fun island-inspired crafts, learn
about endangered species, try some of the cuisines, and gain an understanding of the culture of Hawaii.
DISCOVERING THE FORBIDDEN CITY July 26 - 30
Next stop, Beijing, China! This week we will explore the largest ancient palatial structure in the world,
learn about the Chinese culture, build our own Great Wall, and even learn some Mandarin!
OLYMPIC FUN IN JAPAN August 2 - 6
It's time for the Olympics, so we are off to Tokyo, Japan.
We'll choose our countries, create our flags, and engage
in friendly competition with other Y Summer Camps. By the
end of the week, campers will be all set to follow the
Olympics at home.

REGISTER FOR CAMP
Reserve your camp weeks: A $10 non-refundable deposit
per camp week is required at the time of registration and
is subtracted from your weekly rate. The remaining balance
will be processed the Monday prior to the week of camp.
The registration deadline is the Monday before the first day of camp.

Enrollment Process: All enrollment paperwork will be processed digitally
through CampDoc. You will receive an email with the required
paperwork that must be submitted the Monday before the first week of
camp. Your child will not be admitted to camp unless all paperwork has
been completed.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Are you taking COVID safety precautions? The health and safety of our children, staff, and
families are our top priority and we will be following guidelines as set forth by the Virginia Health
Department, state, and local officials. Due to these guidelines, we will be taking children on a
first-come, first-serve basis and limiting attendance to match the guidelines.
Do you offer a multi-child discount? Yes! Families with two or more children signing up for the
same camp week receive a $5 discount per week of camp for each additional child.
Is a YMCA membership required to attend camp? Membership is not required to register for camp.
However, those who maintain a YMCA membership at the time of registration through the end of
a camp session receive member rates.
Do you offer financial assistance? The YMCA is a non-profit charitable organization that
strengthens the foundations of our community and provides financial assistance for those unable
to pay the standard rates. Visit your local branch to learn more.
How do I receive communication about weekly activities? Weekly schedules will be available at
camp sites each week. Site leaders will also send weekly emails with updates and detailed
information in regards to the upcoming week. Please make sure we have your email address.You can also read
