LOCAL WILDLIFE
Tangalooma is home to a variety of different bird species. To ensure the health of these wild birds, please refrain
from feeding the seagulls and curlews who often frequent the outdoor food areas looking for scraps. Be sure to
head to our daily Pelican and Seabird Feeding at 11am or our Kookaburra feeding at 4.45pm each day should you
wish to discuss bird feeding and learn more about the local Tangalooma wildlife.

SWIMMING AT THE WRECKS
Beware the strong currents at the Wrecks. Lifeguards do not generally patrol this area and Tangalooma Island
Resort recommends that any guest planning to swim or snorkel at the wrecks, does so on an official supervised
tour to ensure their personal safety and maximise enjoyment.
REGGIE THE RESIDENT CANE TOAD DETECTOR
Be sure to keep an eye out for English Springer Spaniel Reggie. Always
hard at work, Reggie is tasked with the important role of keeping
Moreton Island free of cane toads. His training means Reggie can
detect the odour of any cane toads but if you see him around the
Resort, please pat or distract him while he is on the job.
