small personal Wi-Fi devices (phones, tablets, ipods, etc) has
made it even more challenging to provide a seamless wireless
internet experience for rally-goers. All of these devices in close
proximity creates quite a noisy radio frequency environment!
Think of it as trying to have a conversation in a noisy, crowded
room. The louder voices are going to be much easier to hear-
those equate to laptops. The quiet-talkers are the phones and
tablets. If the room gets too noisy, it is nearly impossible to
hear them. Therefore, laptops are your best bet for robust Wi-Fi
access, followed by tablets, and lastly, phones. Winnebago Industries Chooses ®

Personal hotspot devices, like you might get from your cellular
provider, greatly increase Wi-Fi background noise. They’re like
someone being obnoxiously loud in the crowd. Having many
such people will make holding a regular conversation extremely
difficult unless you’re right next to the person — or device —
     you’re talking to.
Please try using the WIT Rally Grounds Wi-Fi system before
using your cellular provider’s hotspot. Due to FCC regulations,
the Rally Grounds hotspots are not allowed to be more powerful
than a cellular “MiFi” hotspot. Our several dozen hotspots are
