2019 Summer Internship Program
“Since being back at school, I have utilized so many skills and techniques I learned this summer and have gotten to share so
many fun stories from our experiences all over NYC. I appreciate the opportunity you gave me and everything I learned.
It was a tremendous experience with lots of personal growth in so many ways.” — Skyler, University of Texas, Austin
As we prepare for our 20th Anniversary Season, NY Classical Theatre is proud to have served nearly
250,000 people with over 700 all-FREE Off-Broadway performances of classical theatre in New York
City’s public parks. NY Classical stages plays in our signature Panoramic Theatre style. We entice
audiences to move with our actors from place-to-place as the plot unfolds from scene-to-scene, and we
actively incorporate the unique qualities of our large, public venues to build an immersive theatrical
experience. The texts may be hundreds of years old, yet beautiful public spaces, free admission and
innovative staging makes these works accessible for all.
During our 2019 summer season, all of our interns will have the opportunity to get a behind the scenes
look at an established Off-Broadway classical theatre company in New York City by working closely
with and learning from professional directors, actors, designers, voice coaches, and stage managers.
All NY Classical productions are produced under an AEA Contract. Interns will receive an unlimited
MTA MetroCard during their time with us. Additionally, interns will be mentored by an Associate Artist
and have the opportunity to attend 3-5 Master Classes in such areas as Voice & Speech, Directing,
Casting, Producing, Stage Management, and Career Development. This internship requires commitment
for the full rehearsal and run of the production.* EMC points are available only for Stage Management
Interns. All interns may earn college credit toward a degree program if granted permission from their
respective institutions.
*
We are flexible with schedules in May due to final exams.

“Interning with New York Classical was the perfect introduction to New York theatre. We were given the opportunity to
learn from professionals while interacting with them on a more personal peer level.
We were able to participate in a true Off Broadway run as well as take classes with these same artists.
— Aliza, Brandeis University
