Basic Description: The NSS volunteers of RKMGEC made some awareness posters during the

Event Name: Celebration birth anniversary of Jamini Roy.
Type: Online
Basic Description: Jamini Roy was a famous painter who born on 14th April, 1887 in Beilatore
village of Bankura district, West Bengal. This year his birth anniversary was celebrated by the
students of RKMGEC. Sumit Dey an NSS volunteer of RKMGEC has drawn a picture of the
pioneering artist Jamini Roy to give him a tribute on his 133rd Birth Anniversary.

The main purpose of this activities is to keeping the mind of the students involve in different good
aspects so that they are not get panicked and don’t feel depressed in this pandemic situation of
COVID-19. As well as they gained lots of cultural knowledge by doing all this kind of works.

Event Name: Food distribution by Chiranjit Das.

Type: Field
Basic Description: Chiranjit Das, a NSS volunteer of RKMGEC had distributed some cooked
foods like rice, egg curry, dal etc. to the peoples who lived in Santipur Railway Station, West
Bengal on 13th April, 2020. He distributed homemade foods and celebrated his birthday by this
way during the pandemic situation of COVID- 19.

Event Name: Awareness Videos.

Basic Description: The NSS volunteers of RKMGEC made some videos during the pandemic
situation of COVID-19 to spread awareness among the peoples. All videos are available in our

Event Name: Awareness Poems
Types: Online
Basic Description: The NSS volunteers of RKMGEC wrote some awareness poems to create
awareness and spread the right massage among the peoples. Avik dubey, Debopriyo Pal, Anwesha

Event Name: Online Drawing Competition on COVID-19.

Type: Online

Basic Description: An online drawing competition was organized by The Bharat Scout & Guides,
West Bengal on 26th April, 2020. Some of our NSS volunteers had participated on this competition
and got participation certificate.

Event Name: Relief Fund during Pandemic Situation of COVID-19.
Types: Online
Basic Description: Ramkrishna Mahato Government Engineering College Purulia (Erstwhile
Purulia Government Engineering College), through its NSS Unit (SFU) (henceforth NSS Unit
RKMGEC) and volunteer students took some initiative in the relief activity to help fight in Covid –
19 pandemics. A total of 29 appeals were received (17 local families around the college premise +
12 college students) for the relief and 24 of them could be served (17 local residents around the
college + 7 college students). Each local family were given a cash transfer of Rs. 500 and each
needy student family was given a cash transfer of Rs. 1000 on 27 th April, 2020.

Event Name: Food Distribution Programme during the Lockdown Period of COVID-19.
Type: Field
Basic Description: The NSS Unit (SFU) of Ramkrishna Mahato Government Engineering and
Vivekananda Yuva Jagaran Sangha distributed some food materials like rice, pulses, soybean,
sugar, among 100 families (saontal, nabasudra, muslim,huyea etc) of Egra, Medinipur on
26.04.2020. The campaign programme was conducted by the Programme Officer of
RKMGEC, Mr. Santigopal Maity. Villagers had given food item by maintaining social distancing
properly. All the updates of this programme are also available in the social websites of RDNSS
Kolkata.

Event Name: International Workers’ Day.

Type:Online

Basic Description: International Workers’ Day also known as Labour Day in some countries and
often referred to as May Day. Every year 1st May is celebrated this day for the Workers’ whose
contribution towards the society is priceless. To give a tribute to the Workers’ our NSS volunteers
made some drawings for them.

The main purpose of this activities is to keeping the mind of the students involve in different good
aspects so that they are not get panicked and don’t feel depressed in this pandemic situation of

Event Name: Birth Anniversary celebration of Satyajit Ray.
Type: Online
Basic Description: On the occasion of 100th Birth Anniversary of Satyjit Ray, some of our NSS
volunteers had made some beautiful pictures of him to give him a tribute on 2 nd May, 2020. He
was a great Indian film director, screen writer, author, music composer, lyricist, graphic designer
and illustrator. He was born on 2nd of May 1950 in Calcutta. He own Oscar on 1992 for his
legendary work in film making.

The main purpose of this activities is to keeping the mind of the students involve in different good
aspects so that they are not get panicked and don’t feel depressed in this pandemic situation of
COVID-19. As well as they gained lots of cultural knowledge by doing all this kind of works.

Event Name: State Level CVID-19 Story Meeting For The NSS Units of West Bengal.

Type: Online

Basic Description: Mr. Santigopal Maity, NSS Programme Officer of RKMGEC had participated
in one day State Level CVID-19 Story Meeting for the NSS Units of West Bengal which was
organized by REGIONAL DIRECTORATE of NSS, Kolkata. Meeting was held on 7 th May, 2020
from 11.30 AM to 2.00 PM. This event was conducted by Mr. Agnimeel Das, Youth Officer, RD,
NSS, Kolkata and Mr. Deepak Mandal, Youth Assistant, RD, NSS, Kolkata under the guidance of
Ms. Sarita Patel, Regional Director, Regional Directorate of NSS, Kolkata. Technical support was
given by Mr. Amit Kumar Mandal, iGOT training Nodal Officer, West Bengal.

Event Name: Rabindranath Tagore Jayanti.

Type: Online

Basic Description: This year was the 159th Birth Anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore who was a
great poet, writer, music composer, painter and philosopher. He was born on the 25 th day of the
Bengali month of Boishakh. He was received the Nobel Prize for Gitanjali. To celebrate his birth
anniversary our NSS volunteers had made some awesome handmade drawings, digital paintings
and videos on 8th of May 2020.

The main purpose of this activities is to keeping the mind of the students involve in different good
aspects so that they are not get panicked and don’t feel depressed in this pandemic situation of
COVID-19. As well as they gained lots of cultural knowledge by doing all this kind of works.

Event Name: Mothers Day Celebration 10th May, 2020.

Type: Online

Basic Description: On the occasion of Mothers Day the NSS volunteers of RKMGEC had made
some digital paintings, crafts and wrote poems etc. to express their love and gratitude towards their
mothers as well as all mothers in the world.

The main purpose of this activities is to keeping the mind of the students involve in different good

Event Name: Relief work by NSS volunteer.
Type: Field
Basic Description: Souvik Monda, an NSS volunteer of RKMGEC along with his friends from
the Kishore Bharati Vidyalay, in the first three weeks of lockdown, provided necessities like rice,
pulses, potatoes, onions, soap, etc. to 125 families in Kashipur, Mangalpur, Chandihat, Majerhat
and Chelegowalia villages of South 24 Parganas. They had also been provided lunch to 80 families
during lockdown.

Event Name: Drawing Competition on International Workers Day.

Basic Description: An online drawing competition was organized by Avindra Spiritualy Artistic
Team, Baguhati, Kolkata-700059 from 12th May to 22nd May, 2020. Some of our NSS volunteers
had participated on that competition and got participation certificate.

Event Name: Relief work by NSS volunteer, 13 th May, 2020.
Type: Online
Basic Description: Sourav Sengupta an NSS volunteer of RKMGEC distributed raw food
materials like rice, dal, potato, onion, salt, oil etc. among 25 needy families of Halisahar, North 24
Parganas, West Bengal during the pandemic situation of COVID-19. He was address to not post
their pictures on social media so that’s why he had covered their faces in respect to their request.

Event Name: National Level Workshop on exploring some aspects of Tagore’s thoughts.
Type: Online
Basic Description: The NSS unit of Burdwan Raj College, Burdwan, West Bengal had organized
an online 7 days National Level Workshop on exploring some aspects of Tagore’s thoughts from
15th May to 21st May, 2020 to celebrate 159th Birth Anneversary of Rabindranath Tagore. Medha
Mukherjee, Barnaly Barman, Dibyatanu Sarkar, Prasun Mandal and Suman Garari are some of our
NSS volunteers who had participated on this event and enjoyed the event very much. They dad
enjoyed the event very much and gained lots of knowledge. At the end of the event they had given
participation certificates.

Event Name: State Level iGOT Training & Orientation Programme.
Type: Online
Basic Description: The NSS volunteers and Programme Officer of RKMGEC had participated on
State Level iGOT Training & Orientation Programme which was organized by Cooch Behar
Panchanan Barma University & Cooch Behar College on 16th May, 2020. This the first online
workshop in which our NSS volunteers had participated. The workshop was so much informative.
Mr. Amit Kumar Mondal had given the training in this event who is an iGOT Training Nodal
Officer, West Bengal.

Event Name: Online Painting Competition.

Type: Online

Basic Description: An online painting competition was organized by Girijananda Chowdhury
Institute of Pharmaceutical Science (GPIS), Assam from 16th to 20th May, 2020. Some of our NSS
volunteers had participated on that event. Sumit Dey got 2nd position and Debopriyo Pal got 3rd
position on that event. They had also got 700 Rs. cash as a winning prize. It was a very proud
moment for our college.

Event Name: COVID-19 Awareness Quiz.

Type: Online

Basic Description: The NSS Unit of Ramkrishna Mahato Government Engineering College had
organized an online quiz competition on 19th May, 2020 during the lockdown period to combat
COVID-19 by creating awareness about Cleanliness, Sanitization & Social Distancing. Around
3000 students, NSS volunteers, faculty members, NSS programme officers, non teaching staffs
were participated in this quiz competition including our state IGOT training nodal officer, Mr,
Amit Kumar Mondal and Regional directorate of Kolkata, Mr. Agnimeel Das. Passing score was
40%. All the successful participants had got their certificates.

Event Name: International Webinar on COVID-19.

Type: Online

Basic Description: The NSS unit of Bangabasi Morning College, Kolkata had organised an
International Webinar on COVID-19 and The New World Order, Post COVID world challenges
and Opportunities from 22nd May to 24th May, 2020. The webinar was held on zoom app and our
NSS volunteers had also participated on that event. At the end of the webinar they had given an
participants certificates to all the participants.

Event Name: Birth Anniversary of Ramkinkar Baij.
Type: Online
Basic Description: Rarmkinkar Baij was an Indian sculptor and painter, one of the pioneers of
modern Indian sculpture, born on 25th May, 1906 in Jugipara, Bankura, West Bengal. On the
occasion of his 115th Birth Anniversary an NSS volunteer had drawn his picture to give him a tribute.

 The main purpose of this activities is to keeping the mind of the students involve in different good
aspects so that they are not get panicked and don’t feel depressed in this pandemic situation of
COVID-19. As well as they gained lots of cultural knowledge by doing all this kind of works.

Event Name: Relief work by Souvik Mondal.

Type: Field

Basic Description: Souvik Mondal, an NSS volunteer of RKMGEC along with his friends from
the Kishore Bharati Vidyalay, distributed some raw foods to the peoples of South 24 Parganas who
got effected by the Amphan Cyclone Strom that caused widespread damage in eastern India,
specially West Bengal in 25th May, 2020.They had distributed simui, dalda, milk, sugar, peas, etc.
to about 200 families on the occasion of EID festival. They had also distributed 300 Tirpols to
the families.

Event Name: Sate Level Workshop on IGOT & COVID Warrior Orientation.

Type: Online

Basic Description: The NSS unit of RKMGEC and Jagannath Kishore College, Purulia had
jointly organized an online iGOT training programme on 25th May, 2020. The programme was
started with a welcome speech of the honorable principal of J.K college purulia Dr. Santanu
Chattopadhyay. After that Dr. Bibek Chakrabarti, honorable principal of RKMGEC address to the
team to forward the programme with his warm speech. Cheif guest of the programme was Ms.
Sarita Patel, NSS Regional Director, Kolkata. Mr. Agnimel Das, NSS Youth Officer, Kolkata and
Mr. Amit Kumar Mondal, iGOT Training Nodal Officer, West Bengal, Dr. Surajit Majumder, NSS
Programme officer of Bankura Sammilani College and dr. Lipika Mandal, NSS P.O of Belda
College, West Bengal were the resource persons of that event. The programme was conducted
through Google Meet App. More than 150 contestants are participated in this programme
from different colleges around the West Bengal. All the participants had given certificates at
the end of the programme after completion of feedback form.

Event Name: State Level Webinar on Stress Management through Meditation

Type: Online

Basic Description: The NSS unit of RKMGEC and the P.O Mr. Santigopal Maity had organized a
two days online workshop on Stress Management through Meditation from 25 th May to 26th
May, 2020 at 10 A.M onwards in the presence of chief patron Dr. Bibek Chakrabarti, Honorable
Principal of RKMGEC. The resource persons of that programme were Mr. Agnimel Das, Youth
Officer, NSS, RD, Kolkata, Mr. Pankaj Sarkar, NSS P.O of Jgannath Kishore college Purulia on
25th May 2020 and Dr. Surajit Majumder, NSS P.O of Bankura Sammilani College, Bankura, Dr.
Tapan Kumar Das, NSS Nodal Officer of Cooch Behar on 26th May. The programme was
conducted through Google Meet App. More than 100 contestants are participated in this
programme from different colleges around the West Bengal. All the participants had given
certificates at the end of the programme after completion of feedback form. Appreciation
certificates were also given to our all resource person during the programme.

Event Name: Giving Tribute to the Contingent Labour.

Type: Online

Basic Description: Two NSS volunteers of RKMGEC Avik Dubey wrote a poem and Sumit Dey
had drawn a picture to express the struggle and pain of the contingent labor which was created due
to the pandemic situation of COVID-19 on 27th May, 2020. They had bringing lights towards the
situation that the contingent labor had gone through that time and give them a tribute by this way.

COVID-19. As well as they gained lots of cultural knowledge by doing all this kind of works.

Event Name: Relief work in Sundarban, West Bengal.

Type: Field

Basic Description: Souvik Mondal, an NSS volunteer of RKMGEC along with his friends from
the Kishore Bharati Vidyalay, distributed some raw foods to the 200 families in 5 villages of
Sundarban, West Bengal on 1st June, 2020. Peoples who got effected by the Amphan Cyclone
Strom that caused widespread damage in eastern India, especially West Bengal in May 2020 had
given raw food materials as well as Tirpols who lost their houses.

Event Name: Inter College Competition Drawing & Essay Writing on 4 th June, 2020.

Type: Online

Basic Description: An Inter College Drawing and Essay Writing Competition were organized by
the NSS unit of Suryasen Mahavidyalay, Siliguri Town, Jalpaiguri on the occasion of World
Environment Day on 5th June, 2020. Some of our NSS volunteers had participated on that event.
Sumit Dey got 3rd position, Abahy Das got 12th position and Farjana Banu got 14th position in
drawing competition on that event. Ankur Barick had achieved 1st position and Haiyatul Biswas
achieved 14th position in essay writing on that event due his tremendous work. They had given
certificates at the end of the event. It’s time to aware and takes action to protect both our
environment and Mother earth.

Event Name: National Webinar on World Environment Day

Basic Description: The NSS unit of RKMGEC had organized a National Level Webinar on World
Environment Day on 5th June, 2020 at 10 A.M onwards in the presence of chief patron Dr. Bibek

purulia, Dr. latibuddin Thander, assistant Professor of RKMGEC, Mr. Bivas Roy Choudhury,
Chief Manager, Haldia Petrochemical Limited and Dr. Rajarshi Ghosh, Assistant Professor,
Burdwan University. The programme was conducted through Google Meet App. More than 100
contestants are participated in this programme from different colleges around the West
Bengal. All the participants had given certificates at the end of the programme after completion of
feedback form. Appreciation certificates were also given to our all resource person during the
programme.

Basic Description: On the occasion of World Environment Day some of the NSS volunteers of
RKMGEC had made some meaningful posters to create awareness among the people about to save

Event Name: Tree Plantation on World Environment Day
Type: Field.
Basic Description: On the occasion of World Environment Day some of the NSS volunteers of
RKMGEC had plant some trees in their home garden and also around the village or town. It’s time

Event Name: An Interactive Session on Time for Nature.

Basic Description: On the occasion of World Environment Day the NSS unit of Burdwan Raj
College had organized An Online Tree Plantation Programme on 5 th June, 2020. Some of the NSS
volunteers of RKMGEC had participated on that event. The main aspects of that programme were
to plant a tree then post it on face book. After that all contestant had get their certificates at the
end.

Event Name: Relief work by Souvik Mondal.

Basic Description: Souvik Mondal, an NSS volunteer of RKMGEC along with his friends from
the Kishore Bharati Vidyalay, distributed some raw foods to the 200 families in the villages of
Sundarban, West Bengal on 5th June, 2020. Peoples who got effected by the Amphan Cyclone

Basic Description: On the occasion of World Ocean Day an NSS volunteer of RKMGEC, Sumit
Dey had participated in an Online Art Competition which held on 8 th June, 2020. He made a
beautiful picture which is very meaningful and giving a massage towards the nation. This picture
has shows that use of plastic can kill the ocean animals which are not good for our environment.
Because they are part of our environment and maintain the ecosystem. So don’t use plastic and
save the ocean.

Event Name: The World against Child Labour Day.

Basic Description: The NSS volunteers of RKMGEC had made some beautiful and meaningful
pictures on the occasion of the World against Child Labor Day on 12th June, 2020. Childs are the

every child has their rights to study and make their own life.

Event Name: World Blood Donor Day.

Basic Description: The NSS volunteers of RKMGEC had made some beautiful and meaningful
pictures on the occasion of the World Blood Donor Day. Every year, on 14 June, countries around

awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products, and to thank blood donors for
their voluntary, life-saving gifts of blood.

been celebrated annually on 21 June since 2015, following its inception in the United Nations

in India. The Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, in his UN address suggested the date of 21
June, as it is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere and shares a special
significance in many parts of the world.

Event Name: Quiz on International Yoga Day.

Basic Description: The NSS Unit of Ramkrishna Mahato Government Engineering College had
organized an online quiz competition on occasion of the 6 th International Yoga Day from 18th June
to 26th June, 2020. Around 5763 students, NSS volunteers, faculty members, NSS programme
officers, non teaching staffs were participated in this quiz competition including our state IGOT
training nodal officer, Mr, Amit Kumar Mondal and Regional directorate of Kolkata, Mr.

Event Name: Blood Donation Camp

Basic Description: Souvil Mondal an NSS volunteer of RKMGEC had organized a Blood
Donation camp with his school friends in South 24 Parganas on 22 nd June, 2020 to fill the crisis of
blood during the pandemic situation of COVID-19. All blood donors had given 2 pieces of Egg, 1
piece of banana, 4 pieces of brown bread, 1 piece of cake, 2 pieces of sandesh, 1 glass of horlicks,
1 glass of glucose water as a Tiffin and fried rice, egg curry as a lunch time food. Total 37 peoples
had donated blood and at the end 74 units of blood were collected.

Event Name: Blood Donation by NSS Volunteers.

Basic Description: Sumanta Mahato a NSS volunteer of RKMGE had donated blood on a Blood
Donation Camp. The camp was organized by the Manbhum Prabandhi Kolyan Samiti, Purulia on
20th July, 2020. About 250ml of blood was collected from each blood donors. He had given 1
piece of boiled Egg, 1 piece of banana, 4 pieces of brown bread, 1 piece of cake, and 1 glass of
glucose water as Tiffin. At the end he was given one packet of Horlicks and a boiled egg.

Event Name: Awareness creates through wall painting.

Basic Description: Sumit Dey an NSS volunteer of RKMGEC and his team is creating awareness
by their beautiful wall painiting. They visited Sealkunda a small village of Bishnupur, Bankura,
West Bengal. In this village they had done some Indian Folk art, Fusion art, Modern art and art of
Jamini Roy in the house walls of the villagers around 10 days. They put mask in their every
painting in support of #maskindia campaign to create awareness among the villagers. All the
villagers were very happy and they give positive response for their work. Their works also

on the occasion of Fit India Foredoom Run and Golden Jubilee Year of NSS Kolkata with

Basic Description: The NSS Kolkata had completed its 50 years of service on 24th September,
2019 to celebrate this occasion NSS Kolkata celebrated the year 2020 as a Golden Jubilee Year of
NSS. Reg. So, on the occasion of Golden Jubilee Celebration of NSS all the NSS Units had
planned different programs throughout the year previously for the orientation of the NSS
volunteers as well as to render community service. But due to COVID19 pandemic situation all the
School and Colleges are closed since March 2020 throughout India. Therefore, with the objective
to utilize the time and to conclude the Celebration all the NSS Units had given a notice from RD

large scale.
So, on this context the NSS unit of RKMGEC and the P.O Mr. Santigopal Maity had organized a
One Day National Webinar on FIT INDIA FREEDOM RUN at 18th September, 2020 at 4:00
PM onwards which was known as Golden Jubilee Lecture Series-XX. The event had been
started with a warm speech of our Honorable Principal sir Dr. Bibek Chakrabarti. Then the
programme was move forward with the speech of our first speaker Mr, Pasupati Mahato (Dept. of
physical Education, Nistarinin Women’s College, Purulia, WB) where he explained the
importance of physical activities in our day to day life. Then our next speaker Dt. Kalpana Ray
(Registered Dietitian, Diaberic Educator, Clinical Dietitian, Park Clinic, Kolakata) gave us a
beautiful presentation on “Diet For Fit India”. Mr. Agnimel Das,Youth Officer, NSS, Regional
Directorate, Kolkata (Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt. of India) gave his valuable time
and a very motivational speech in that event.

Our last speaker Dr. Sukanta Ghosh (Nodal Officer of Fit India Freedom Run, NSS P.O, Cooch
Behar College, Cooch Behar) had explained and gave a presentation on how we could collect E-
certificates from Central Government by uploading the everyday picture of regular physical
activities. The programme was conducted through Google Meet App. More than 100 contestants
are participated in this programme from different colleges around the West Bengal. All the
participants had given certificates at the end of the programme after completion of feedback
form. Appreciation certificates were also given to our all resource person during the

Event Name: Fit India Freedom Run Competition

Basic Description:
This year our honorable Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Damodar Das Modi had announced to
celebrate FIT INDIA FREEDOM RUN event on the context of Fit India Movement from 15 th
August to 2nd October, 2020. On this purpose NSS RD NSS Kolkata had given a notice to
celebrate this occasion by conducting online FIT INDIA FREEDOM RUN COMPETITION. So,
the NSS Unit of Ramkrishna Mahato Government Engineering College, Purulia and the P.O Mr.
Santigopal Maity had also organized an Online Fit India Freedom Run Competition from 21 st to
27th September, 2020. At first all interested participants had registered their names for the
competition then participants had added in a What’s App group. Participants had to give their
picture of daily exercise, skipping, yoga, running, cycling, jogging, walking, swimming, dancing,
etc. minimum 5 days of the 7 days in the What’s App group. Around 56 members have
participated from various age groups and from different occupation. At the end of the event all
successful participants had given their E-certificates.

Programme Coordinator NSS & YRC, Central University of Haryana was the speaker of that
programme. The programme was conducted through Google Meet App. About 118 students are
participated in this programme from different colleges around the West Bengal. All the
participants had given certificates at the end of the programme after completion of feedback

       The Sanitisation and Management Team of Swachta Action Plan (SAP), RKMGEC

Event Name: An Online Quiz Competition on Worlds Aids Day.

Type: Online

Basic Description: An Online Quiz Competition had been organized by the Red Ribbon Club
under NSS Unit of Ramkrishna Mahato Government Engineering College, Purulia in
collaboration with West Bengal AIDS Prevention and Control Society, Dept. of H&FW,
Govt. of West Bengal, from 15th November to 1st December, 2020 on the occasion of WORLDS
AIDS DAY. The competition had three rounds, 1st round was held from 15th to 25th November,
2nd round was held on 29th November at 10:00 am and the 3rd round was held on 1st December
from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. There were 30 questions in each round, and every question carries 4
marks. There was no negative marking on 1st round. But both 2nd and 3rd round had negative
marks. There was no time limit at 1st round, but both the 2nd and 3rd round was having a time limit.
The successful candidates of 2nd and 3rd round were given certificates as well as many prizes. Two
winners have been given an amount of Rs. 500/- each. Two successful candidates from 2 nd round
of the quiz have been given an amount of Rs. 400/- each; two others has been given an amount of
Rs. 300/- each and four candidates have been given an amount of Rs. 200/- each. All the cash prize
have been given on the basis of giving answers to the quiz. Also, all winners have been given a
good quality diary and pen.

Event Name: DISTRICT YOUTH PARLIAMENT

Date: 23rd December-13th January, 2021

Basic Description: : National Youth Parliament Festival 2021 was held from 23rd December
to 13th January 2021 in that phases i.e. District Youth Parliament, State Youth Parliament &
national Youth Parliament.
The District Level Youth Parliarnent and the State Level Youth Parliament were held in virtual
mode whereas the final of National Youth Parliament Festival 2021 was held at national level was
held at New Delhi in physical mode. In this context, District Youth Parliament (DYP) had been
organized in 150 specified districts by clustering 4-5 districts in one DYP from 24 th September –
29th September, 2020. Two Winners from District level were participating in the State level Youth
Parliament Programme (SYP) which was held on 1st January, 2021-5 th January 2021. Top two
winners from 29 State Youth Parliaments were participating in Natioual Youth parliament (NYP)
at New Delhi from 12th January-13th January, 2021. The age limit of the participants was 18-25
years. About 20 numbers of students of our institute were applied from the Purulia district for the
District Level Youth Parliarnent. At the end one of NSS Volunteer Sk. Sonu was selected for

Event Name: Health Awareness Camp and Sanitary Napkins Distribution

Basic Description: The Swachta Action Plan (SAP) team of RKMGEC under MGNCRE, Dept. of

Ramkrishna Mahato Government Engineering College, Purulia organized a Health Awareness
Camp and Sanitary Napkins Distribution on 11th February 2021 in collaboration with Smile Group
(United to Spread) of Purulia, which is a non-governmental NGO. The camp began at 11:00 a.m.
in the seminar hall of administrative building. It was co-ordinated by Mr. Santigopal Maity, Asst
Prof of Electronics and Communication Engineering department and NSS programme officer &
SAP co-ordinator of the college. Our honourable Principal sir Dr. Bibek Chakrabarti; Mr.
Agnimeel Das, Youth Officer, For Regional Director, Kolkata; Were joined virtually with us
through Google Meet. The programme was inaugurated by our honorable principal sir. Then the
programme move forwarded with the small introduction of Smile Group. Then our chief guest
Miss. Anushree Mahapatra, a social worker and the chief functionary of Bartar Saradamoni
Mission, Purulia gave a warm welcome to Dr. Tapas Kumar Mahato, B.H.M.S (W.B.U.H.S) and
Smile Group with flower and a small memento. The NGO is specially working for the women’s
and they distributed more than 55 sanitary napkins at free of cost on that day. They also told
us to distribute sanitary napkins every month at our college premises only at Rs.10/-. Free masks
had been given to the 150 villagers. About 20 students were come across for the volunteer ship
and also some faculty members were also joined in that camp.

about 70 older people whose age more than 50 years and also blood group had been tested of more
150 villagers. Other check up included weaning weight and measurement of Blood Pressure. Free
sanitizers and masks had been given to the villagers. About 25 students were come across for the
volunteer ship and also some faculty members were also joined in that camp.
Outcome: In that camp poor villagers got benefited by the health check up and with Dr.
Consultation at free of cost. Many of them were also come to know about their blood group first
time. Females were benefited for having sanitary napkins at free of cost and also knowing about
how to take care of their health and to having free sanitary napkins.
