We travel this morning to the historic market town of

Beverley, the charming streets and courtyards continue to
attract history buffs, music lovers, racegoers and shoppers
alike. Beverley Minster is one of the largest parish churches
in the UK, regarded as a Gothic masterpiece and famed for
its 13th century stone carvings and stained-glass windows.
Today we visit the spectacular Christmas Tree Festival
staged in this beautiful church. Last year there were over
90 trees, each one decorated and sponsored by a local
community organisation, or local or national company.
Refreshments are also available with soup, sandwiches,
cakes and hot and cold drinks. Beverley provides an
upmarket shopping experience with premium brands,

The largest collection of King Tutankhamun’s treasures to leave

Egypt, is going on display at the Saatchi Gallery in Chelsea London.
The exhibition is on show as part of the commemorations marking
the centenary of the discovery of the tomb. Over 150 original
artefacts from the tomb, including 60 that have never been outside
Egypt before, will be on display with the exhibition focusing on the
significance of Tutankhamun’s burial items and how they helped
the king on his journey to everlasting life. We travel to London this
morning and drop you as near to the Saatchi Gallery as possible
where there will be time for sightseeing and lunch before we enter
the Tutankhamun Exhibition at 14:00hrs. Relax in the Gallery Mess

This morning we travel to Brigg Garden Centre the flagship centre

of the British Garden, from the huge plant area to the beautiful gift
department, to the excellent restaurant for lunch. Brigg offers
you a unique shopping experience with everything you need for
the home and garden. This afternoon we continue to Crowders
Nurseries who have been trading for over 200 successful years,
throughout seven generations of the Lincolnshire based Crowder
family which opened in the early 1980s. The centre has a relaxed
atmosphere and customers will find staff extremely helpful and
sharing a genuine passion for gardening. Stock varies from bulbs
and vegetables, plants, tools and garden furniture, lawn care, pet
supplies, seeds and more. A visit to Botts Coffee Shop or The
Redwood Restaurant for either a hot drink or slice of home-made
cake, is highly recommended.

An exciting day in store this morning as we travel to the

Anderton Boat Lift Visitor Centre to embark on a combined

lift and river cruise on the Edwin Clark. The cruise will take you
along the picturesque River Weaver to Northwich and you will
see beautiful wildlife, historic Northwich. A commentary by
the guide will help you discover the industrial heritage of the
area and why the lift was so important then and now. There is
a coffee shop for refreshment and a gift shop for souvenirs.
This afternoon we continue to Jodrell Discovery Centre which
has been awarded UNESCO World Heritage Site status. The
observatory played a unique role in this momentous occasion,
capturing the moment when the Eagle landed, carrying Neil
Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, and touched down on the surface
of the Moon in 1969. Dip into the packed programme of special events, take a walking tour beneath the Lovell Telescope
or experience live science shows and hands-on exploration of our Solar System, there’s plenty here to entertain budding
astronauts, large and small. Visit the Planet Pavilion Café, with its stunning terrace overlooking the telescope and treat
yourself to a cup of tea and home-made cake, there is also a gift shop.

height of the Cotswold wool industry the town was famous
for its huge annual fairs where as many as 20,000 sheep
were sold at one time. The vast Market Square testifies
to the town’s former importance. At one end stands the
ancient cross, and at the other the town stocks, shaded
between an old elm tree. Around the square the visitor is
faced with an elegant array of Cotswold town houses, many
fine Antique shops, Art galleries, Gift and Craft shops and cafes for refreshment. We continue this afternoon to
the charming village right in the heart of the Cotswold and one of the prettiest villages in England, Bourton-on-

Kidderminster to the ancient riverside town of Bridgnorth. On

the way your train will pass through the town of Bewdley, with its
quaint quayside, gardens and lovely Georgian architecture, then
it’s on through the Severn Valley all the way to the end of the line.
Bridgnorth Station is still trying to improve facilities but there is a
café, a public house, shops selling books and railway memorabilia
and toilets. To make your way to higher town take the footbridge from the station main entrance for a 15-minute walk into
High town. You will encounter some significant slopes and steps. Bridgnorth is split into a ‘high’ and ‘low’ town separated
by a sandstone cliff. There is an easier way by walking a short distance to the Bridgnorth Cliff Railway which conveniently
connects Low Town with High Town and has been transporting the people of Bridgnorth up and down the 111ft sandstone
cliffs for many years. On the very peak of High Town are the remains of Bridgnorth Castle next to St Mary Magdalene
Church and in the centre of the High Street is the Bridgnorth town Hall. There are many unique shops and for refreshments

We travel to Banbury a charming market town on the

rhyme is set close to the Banbury Cross. Other points
of interest include the Market Place, the St Mary’s parish

moated and fortified manor house set in parkland and built of the rich local Hornton ironstone. It is home to
