Teachers’ Notes

This therapy begins by revising pupils’ understanding of nouns.

It moves on to explore what a proper noun is: a name used for an
individual person, place, or organisation, spelled with an initial capital
letter e.g. London, Mr.Jenkins, The Red Cross.

The use of a capital letter for proper nouns is then modelled and
exemplified.

Finally, pupils have the opportunity to practise the skill.
