Where to Meet
To partake in the Fall Kickoff Outings, meet on in
the lobby of the first floor of the Ben Parker
Student Center near the help desk. Representatives
from each organization will be present to take you
to your Fall Kickoff Outing. Should you want to
switch outings throughout the event, no worries!
Locations for each outing and a campus map are
included so that you can travel to various
excursions.
Need help finding you location?
Report back to the SAIL office (located on the first
floor of the Ben Parker Student Center) for
assistance or give us a call at 303-273-3234.
Accommodations
All events are in-person and located in various
locations across campus and the Golden community.

American Society of Mechanical Engineers
2:00 - 4:00pm | Kafadar
ASME is all about helping students find/learn about mechanical engineering jobs across the nation,
expand their professional network, and provide interesting and fun projects outside the classroom. We
have companies come out to Mines and talk to students about how they use/need mechanical
engineers. It's a great time meeting other students going through the same ME path, come join us!
Ballroom Dance Club
2:00 - 4:00pm | Schramm
Check out one of the biggest clubs on campus! Take a short dance lesson with the Ballroom Dance Club!
We will be teaching both a swing and a waltz lesson, with plenty of time in between for ice cream and
meeting new people. No partner or experience necessary!
Belegarth
2:00 - 4:00pm | Jalili Plaza
Come join the Belegarth Medieval Combat Society for an afternoon of foam fighting! We will be
conducting bear pits, a series of one-on-one duels where the winner continues to fight new opponents
until they are dethroned. This is a great opportunity to have a little fun outdoors while seeing what
medieval foam combat is all about!
Chess Club
2:00 - 4:00pm | Chev Commons
Looking to play some chess or bust some moves? Swing by Chev Commons ( the grassy area in front of
the trads) during the Fall Kickoff to join the Mines Chess Club, where we’ll be playing some chess,
talking some smack, listening to some tunes, and meeting new people! All skill levels welcome!
Entrepreneurship Club
2:00 - 4:00pm | McNeil Hall Room 213
Join the Mines Entrepreneurship Club through a quick and quirky event showcasing the beginning of
the entrepreneurial process! Bring a team or form one there, find problems for a given population, and
create creative and low fidelity solutions to be pitched to the crowd in whatever way your team desires!
Stay after or come late to join in on a soda and juice networking event which will include a conversation
on how to talk to anyone!
International Student Council
2:00 - 4:00pm | Maple Plaza
International Student Council (ISC) wants to promote international student interactions between first-
year and returning students by socially-distanced meet-your-peers arrangement, take pictures, hang
out, play yard games, or play fortune flag scavenger hunts. Come and get to know each other and also
win prizes at the end of the games tournament at 3.30 pm.Outings Overview
Karaoke and Music Club

The Karaoke and Music Club is a great space to have fun jamming, singing, and making new friends!
Join us at Fall Kickoff to get to know people while playing musical chairs and enjoy some ice cream
afterwards!
Mines Cheer Team

Get ready for Mines Athletics Gameday with the Mines a cheer team! Learn everything you need to
know about our GameDay traditions along with a few cheers to help us cheer on the OreDigger’s to
victory this year!
Mines Hike for Help

Are you interested in hiking, self-sustaining service projects, or Nepal? If so, come to Mines Hike for
Help’s fall kickoff outing! We will have ice cream, Nepal Trivia (with prizes), and you will get to meet
some of our members and learn how to implement sustainable engineering in places like Nepal.
Mines Little Theatre

Welcome to Mines! Want to make some cool stuff and learn more about theatre? Get to know your
fellow orediggers and challenge your friends to a paper airplane competition hosted by Mines Little
Theatre. Materials will be provided, and members will be there to talk about their experiences and our
involvement on campus as a club. We hope to see you there.
SHPE

Welcome to campus, Orediggers! Come join the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) for
a fun afternoon with a kickball tournament! You'll get a change to get to know us, all that SHPE has
to offer, all while having fun during the kickball tournament.
Solar Decathlon Club

Are you interested in Renewable Energy? Or how to design Sustainable buildings? Do you like
working with your hands to build something? If you answered yes to any of these questions, we’d
love to have you at Solar Decathlon & Tiny House! We are a club devoted to Building a Sustainable
world by competing on a global scale and building our very own Tiny House on the Mines Campus.

Come join Socially Responsible Scientists and Engineers (SRSE) and Humanitarian Engineering (HE)
for Mocktails and good conversations. Meet HE students, network, and learn about the program,
opportunities, and get to know the work we do as socially responsible scientists and engineers. Feel
free to come and go as you please - we would love to meet you!
Undergraduate Research Scholars Student Organization

The “Undergraduate Meet & Greet” is a low-pressure way to ask questions and learn more about
undergraduate research happening on the Mines campus. First-year students are invited to meet
faculty mentors, experienced student researchers, and URS staff at this casual, musical-chairs-
