PHMC (Advertisement) Regulations 2019

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has reviewed the Private Hospitals and Medical
Clinics (PHMC)(Publicity) Regulations, which is the current principal legislation
governing all publicity conducted by private hospitals, medical/dental clinics,
clinical laboratories and nursing homes licensed under the PHMC Act in
Singapore. The PHMC (Publicity) Regulations will be replaced by the PHMC
(Advertisement) Regulations (the “Advertisement Regulations”), which will take
effect from 15 April 2019. The Advertisement Regulations has been gazetted at
https://sso.agc.gov.sg/SL-Supp/S38-
2019/Published/20190115?DocDate=20190115 for your reference.

2 With the enactment of the Advertisement Regulations, MOH has revised
its explanatory guidance (EG) to provide clarity to the PHMC licensees with the
broad regulatory principles and requirements set out in the Advertisement
Regulations. A decision tree has also been included within the EG to assist
licensees in determining if the advertisements are in compliance with the
Advertisement Regulations.

3 The licensees of healthcare institutions are responsible and accountable
for all advertisements of its healthcare services, which include those that are
outsourced to advertising or marketing agencies. Hence, licensees should
familiarise themselves with the Advertisement Regulations and the EG in the
next 3 months and comply with the Advertisement Regulations starting from 15
April 2019.

4 To assist the licensees better, MOH will be rolling out a few workshops
from February 2019 to guide the licensees through the Advertisement
Regulations. More details will be announced later.

Advanced Course in Microscopic

Endodontic treatment in recent years has gone through some paradigm shift.
Dental operating microscope, ultrasonics, CBCT, bioceramics and etc. have

As microscopes become more affordable these days, many general dentists
are using microscopes in their routine practice. To assist those who want to
start or try out microscope in endodontics, Ancora Imparo has brought in
Harvard trained endodontist Dr Sakdee to run a 2-day course in Advanced
