WELCOME Welcome to the 12th Annual VJHF Charity Classic. Once again, the Paul Docksteader Foundation is extremely proud to be the Title Sponsor for this incredibly important community event. I would first like to recognize and thank everyone involved, in making last year’s amazing “virtual event” such a resounding success. The record setting funds raised through The 19th Hole is a testament to the spirit of our community, the hard work, dedication and commitment by so many wonderful and talented people. This year we are back on the golf course and I am personally looking forward to seeing everyone back at beautiful Predator Ridge and sharing in another very special day. Our community is growing at an incredible rate. The pressures on our local hospital, the equipment, hospital rooms and beds, are constantly rising. The ability to access quality healthcare, in a timely manner, is so very important to all of us moving forward. However, with proper planning and a joint effort, we will generate the funding that our Vernon Jubilee Hospital needs to provide health care excellence in the North Okanagan. I would especially like to recognize VJHF Executive Director Kate McBrearty, her entire team, and all the dedicated hospital staff for their tireless efforts. Thank you to Senior Vice President Brad Pelletier and everyone at Predator Ridge for their ongoing and passionate support of our Vernon Jubilee Hospital. They have been there with us since day one. After a completely disrupted year, we are so pleased to be hosting this most worthwhile event in its’ 12th year. It is the highlight of our event calendar and marquee event in the region. Over the course of the past 20 months we have all come to appreciate the importance of quality health care facilities and health care workers. I have personally heard so many stories from friends who have benefited from the highest level of care at VJH and for that I say THANK YOU. As one of the larger contributors to charity in the region, this event is the cornerstone to our commitment. Thank you for attending the 12th Annual Charity Classic Golf Tournament. This past year has
been a challenge for all of us, to say the least. Although we are still facing many challenges in
adapting to the realities of COVID-19, your engagement in this tournament is a testament to
the support of VJH Foundation from our community.
In the previous eleven years, we have raised more than $2.3 million towards crucial health
care initiatives in the North Okanagan. We recognize our region is growing rapidly, but
is also aging. Healthcare needs will continue to rise; but together, through this event, we
have been supporting excellence in healthcare. If you or someone you care about has had
to use the Hospital, ambulance or long-term care facilities, you will already be aware of the
contributions previously made.
This year, we would like to stress how much we appreciate your contributions. Look at
