Foreword
Dear Reader,
Customers, and Colleagues,
2018 was an eventful year for us, characterized by many changes and innova-
tions. Not only did we restructure our organization for our tasks and projects,
but we also subjected our services to intensive review. In the future, there are a
number of things that will no longer be done, many new things will be added, and
a few things will simply be done differently and in a better way. The market for
digitization in the construction industry has grown significantly, resulting in growth
unprecedented during the course of our 12-year history. We are looking forward
to this phase and to the changes that are made possible by it. HOCHTIEF ViCon
will always do everything it can to remain a reliable partner, providing innovative
services for your projects. The new services will gradually be introduced via the
Dimensions Newsletter.
The introduction of BIM has also made significant progress in public building and
infrastructure construction. The BIM road map for Germany is taking shape and
enables significantly improved preparation of Building Information Modeling, not
only on the client side. Contractors (planners, specialist engineers, construction
companies, operators) can also adapt better to future challenges and understand
what is needed and how. For this purpose, templates and guidance documents
were developed in cooperation with the BIM4INFRA 2020 consortium. We are
eager to help companies master the changes in our industry in such a way that
ultimately results in the creation of a competitive advantage for our customers.
Digital innovations have also become increasingly important throughout our
company, HOCHTIEF, and many interesting projects have been launched. We
are curious to see what developments the next few years will bring and how
HOCHTIEF, as a leading construction company, will continue to „digitally“ evolve
worldwide.
