Our Mission
The 49ers Academy serves 6th, 7th and 8th grade students from East Palo Alto. Defined by educational excellence,
the 49ers Academy maximizes the potential of every student. The school emphasizes self-discipline, respect, and
individualized attention to help students master core subjects and prepare for high school. Students benefit from a
small, nurturing and personalized environment.

Located in the heart of East Palo Alto’s most at-risk neighborhood, the 49ers Academy creates a climate of hope
among this community’s most challenged children. Advanced technology, individualized instruction, social support
services and extended school hours are just some of the practices the 49ers Academy utilizes to achieve a higher
standard of education.

A talented, caring staff establishes high expectations in the belief that every student can

About the hosts
Chris Kelly and his wife, Jennifer Carrico are California philanthropists and long time supporters of the
San Francisco 49ers Academy. Chris is a Silicon Valley entrepreneur, politician and attorney with a long
track record of representing innovative companies and working to make the Internet a safer place for
kids and adults alike. Just one year after Facebook was founded, Chris joined as Chief Privacy Officer,
overseeing privacy, security, and safety for the site’s 200 million users. Chris left Facebook in 2010 to
run for Attorney General in California. He is currently a board member and investor in LOYAL3, Fandor,
GoDigital, Electionear, and many other innovative companies. Most recently, Chris joined an investor
group that a bid to keep the NBA Kings in Sacramento.
