Fact
Graduate schemes,
particularly in Finance, close
early, most before November
for a start date the following
summer.
Important to engage early
When is your best window of
application?
KING’S BUSINESS SCHOOL | kcl.ac.uk/business 7Where do I have the strongest chance? E.g. UK vs China? What are recruiters looking for?

University of Nottingham Uni. BS – China reportApplication Deadlines vs
Rolling Recruitment
Application deadlines dates will probably be
similar to last year
Bank of America October
BCG October
Lazard October
UBS November
Citi November
JP Morgan November
Goldman Sachs November
Rolling Recruitment
EY, Bank of England, PWC, Bloomberg
KING’S BUSINESS SCHOOL | kcl.ac.uk/business 9Why it’s important to apply early Goldman like other banks accepts applicants on a first come first served basis. In other words, if you apply now and Goldman likes you, it will make you an offer and give you a place. But if you apply in November and Goldman likes you, it might want to make you an offer and give you a place, but it could be that there are no places left. Why this matters? Goldman Sachs receives a lot of applications. In 2016, Goldman told the Financial Times it received 223,849 applications for analyst and summer analyst positions. August 2019 Goldman received 270,000 and JP Morgan saw a 55% increase 10 KING’S BUSINESS SCHOOL | kcl.ac.uk/business

a degree
