It is right and good to begin this new year with worship. As we look back
and look ahead, may we see the deeds of the Lord and praise him for what
he has done. Welcome to worship in this new year of our Lord, 2023!

This morning Pastor Michael will be preaching on the biblical book of
Lamentations, looking at 3:10-33. Next week, we will be reading and
reflecting on 1 Timothy 3, and we will also be installing our new elders
and deacons for their terms of service.

SNL will be back next week with Kid’s Club, GEMS, and Cadets all meeting
at 4:00. The Parenting Discussion Class will be meeting at 4:15 and
discussing chapter 7– Lost.

There will be no Sunday School or Catechism classes this week. They
will all resume next week after the morning worship service.

Pastor Michael’s sermon discussion class will also resume again next week
in the sanctuary during the Sunday School hour.

The 2023 giving envelopes are available in your church mailbox. If you
would like to begin giving online, please contact Marla Ruis or Anita for a
form to help you get that set up. Another convenient way to give is through
our mobile giving app, Tithe.ly.

Our Church Family
We wish a very happy birthday to:
>Rosie Van Driel, celebrating 96 years TODAY!
>Joyce Kiel, celebrating 94 years on Wednesday, January 4.

Please continue to uphold the Koppendrayer family in prayer as they mourn
the loss of little Layne.

Please keep Roger Peel in your prayers as he continues to recover from
surgery to repair several vertebrae in his back.

A funeral for Joyce Reiman will take place tomorrow at 11:00 here in Pease.

“I thank you for thinking of me at Christmas with your delicious food, treats
and beautiful cards!” ~Louise Spoelstra

“I would like to thank the congregation and community for their support and
prayers after my accident and for the generous donations at my benefit. Thank
you, you’ve all become a very huge part of my life.” ~Brian Santema

“I wish to thank all of you for the Christmas cards and the notes that you wrote
to me. Also, the treats. Thank you again!” ~Maxine Carlson

If you haven’t already, please register for the Thriving Essentials Workshop
on Saturday, January 21. We’d love to have a good representation from our
congregation there for a great time of thinking about the ministry of Pease
CRC!

The youth group would like to thank everyone who supported their
fundraising efforts for their SERVE trip by purchasing Heggie’s pizza. This
summer 15 youth and 4 adults will attend SERVE in Redlands, CA.

The kitchen has a large number of bowls and pans looking for their rightful
homes! If you have brought food to a funeral and have not gotten your dishes
back, please grab them today!

At-Home Faith Formation Tip: “There is a time for everything, and a
season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to
die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a
time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance” (Eccles 3:1-4). As we enter a new year
full of unknowns, remind each other to take comfort in the knowledge that
all your times are in God’s hand. (Tip from Faith Formation. Find more at:
