Facility Information
LOCATION
The Iowa Events Center HyVee Hall is located in the heart of
downtown Des Moines just south of Interstate 235 in between
3rd Street and 5th Street.

PARKING
Parking is available north of the Community Choice Convention Center off of Crocker Street for $10/car and
in multiple locations throughout downtown. You can access the Iowa Events Center Hy-Vee Hall from nearly
every parking garage downtown through the Skywalk system.

COMPETITION & AWARDS LOCATIONS
Competition is located in Hall C (Level 2) of HyVee Hall. Entrance to the building can be found from multiple
locations via skywalk or street level. Signage and kiosks will be available throughout the building.
Awards will be hosted after each session and is located on Level 1, Rooms 104 & 105. You can use the
escalators or elevators just outside Hall C to access the lower level.
ADMISSION PRICES
Tickets can be purchased on-site via credit/debit. No cash transactions.

Daily pass (Fri/Sat/Sun): $20 $15
Chows Winter Classic Event Pass: $40 $25
Event pass does not include the Spieth America Winter Classic Cup.

GYM LAYOUT
There will have two competition areas within Hall C – the Red gym and White gym. Competition will be going
on simultaneously throughout the weekend. There will be a concession stand open within the competition hall
throughout the weekend.

SCHEDULE
Competition schedule will be announced mid-December.
ON-SITE MEDICAL
On-site medical will be available throughout the weekend in Hall C thanks to our sponsors UnityPoint Health
and Athletico.
COACHES HOSPITALITY
We will be providing hospitality for coaches on Level 1, Rooms 107 & 108. Beverages will be provided
throughout the day, as well as lunch and dinner.
COVID PROTOCOLS
The safety of all gymnasts, coaches, judges, spectators, and volunteers is very important to Chow’s Gymnastics
Booster Club. COVID-19 precautions and protocols have been implemented with that goal in mind. These
guidelines will be fluid during the pre-meet planning process as national and local guidelines change. You can

NASTIA LIUKIN CUP QUALIFIER
The 19th Annual Chow’s Winter Classic is a Nastia Liukin Cup Qualifier!
Two (2) athletes (one junior, age 15 and under, and one senior, age 16 or
older) with the highest all-around score(s) will qualify.
Senior athletes - born in 2005 or prior; Junior athletes - born 2006 or later.
Ineligible Athletes: Current US National Team members; Athletes who have been a member of the US National Team within six months of the Nastia
Liukin Cup; Foreign athletes.
The 20 invitational qualifying meets comprising the 2022 Nastia Liukin Cup Series will feature some of the best
USA Gymnastics Women’s Development Program Level 10 gymnasts from across the United States as they
compete for a spot at the 13th annual Nastia Liukin Cup.
For 2022, the Cup field will expand to 40 gymnasts. These athletes will be determined through performances at
the invitationals in the series, and a total of 20 junior and 20 senior gymnasts – one each per invitational – will
advance. Senior athletes must be 16 years of age or older, and junior athletes must be 15 or younger.
Should any qualifying event be cancelled due to the ongoing pandemic, the allotted qualification spots will be
awarded to the participating invitational remaining on the calendar that is geographically closest.
The date and location of the 2022 Nastia Liukin Cup will be announced separately. Past sites include 2021,
Indianapolis, Ind.; 2020, Milwaukee, Wis.; 2014 and 2019, Greensboro, N.C.; 2018, Hoffman Estates, Ill.; 2016
and 2017, Newark, N.J.; 2015, Arlington, Texas; 2010 and 2013, Worcester, Mass.; 2012, New York City; and
2011, Jacksonville, Fla.
The Nastia Liukin Cup Series was started in 2010 by 2008 Olympic all-around gold-medalist Nastia Liukin.
Gymnasts who compete in the 2022 Nastia Liukin Cup will receive a Nastia Liukin-designed warm-up and
competition leotard, along with a warm-up from GK Elite, and will have the opportunity to meet Liukin onsite
at the event.

COACHES & GYMNAST CHECK-IN
There will be a check-in table for all coaches and gymnasts just inside Hall C.
ALL ACCESS PASS
New this year! Gymnasts and Coaches will have an All Access Pass that allows them the following benefits:
* Free admission into all 4 days of Chow’s Winter Classic
* Free admission to the Spieth America Winter Classic Cup college meet (GYMNASTS ONLY) between Iowa
State University and Temple University - Saturday, November 15, 6:30pm at the Iowa Events Center HyVee
Hall – Hall B. Coaches can receive a discount on tickets purchased online starting December 3. (See Spieth
America Winter Classic Cup for more information).
* Discounts at local restaurants and fun entertainment. Just Scan the QR code to get in on all the fun!
NOTE: Passes MUST be worn for All Access benefits.
Coaches – Coaches can pick up leotards for their gym at this table at any time throughout the weekend. An All
Access Pass will also be provided and should be worn throughout the weekend (optional during competition).
After check in, coaches may proceed to the scoring table on the competition floor for rotation information.
Gymnasts – Competing gymnasts can pick up their All Access Pass at the check-in table and should be worn
throughout the weekend (except when competing). After check in, gymnasts may proceed to their assigned gym
for competition.

Leotard Pick Up
This year's gymnast gift is a custom Chow's Winter Classic leotard!
Pick up information:
Leotards will be given to coaches for their entire gym when they check in. We encourage coaches to wait until
returning to your home gym before handing them out to each gymnast to ensure they are given the correct size.
Exchange information:
Due to the COVID 19 Pandemic, we will not be able to offer size exchanges, as we will not have any extra
leotards on hand the weekend of the meet. We have special ordered the leotards at the size requested by each
registered gymnast. Additionally, if a gymnast is added to the meet from the wait list, they will not receive a
leotard.
***Due to 2021 shipping issues, the leotard refund date will be November 20, 2021.
After that, there will be no changes to leotard sizes.***

SPIETH AMERICA WINTER CLASSIC CUP
New this year! Chow’s Gymnastics Booster Club is bringing college gymnastics to Des Moines with the
inaugural Spieth America Winter Classic Cup! Held in conjunction with Chow’s Winter Classic, the Spieth
America Winter Classic Cup, features a dual meet between the Iowa State Cyclones and Temple Owls.
Saturday, January 15, 6:30pm (doors open at 6pm) at the Iowa Events Center HyVee Hall - Hall B.
Tickets will go on sale to the general public at www.chowsgymmeets.com/winterclassiccup
starting December 3, 2021 - January 12, 2022.
After January 12, tickets will be sold on site during Chow's Winter Classic at Hy-Vee Hall.
There are a limited number of tickets available and are sold on a first come, first served basis until sold out!
$20 online (December 3 - January 12)
$25 on site (January 13 - 15)

Gymnasts - All participating Winter Classic gymnasts will be able to use their All Access Pass for free
admission to the Spieth America Winter Classic Cup. Gymnasts will receive an up close and personal college
gymnastics experience with on-floor seating! Gymnasts must pick up their All Access Pass by 6pm Saturday,
January 15, in order to receive free admission to the meet.
Coaches – You can purchase tickets starting December 3, 2021 – January 12, 2022, at
www.chowsgymmeets.com/winterclassiccup. Use the promo code CHOWSWCGUEST for a $5 discount. This
discount code is for coaches only! After January 12, tickets will be sold on site at full price during Chow's
Winter Classic at Hy-Vee Hall.
