“HOW DO YOU MAKE A BIG CHURCH FEEL SMALL?” Many first-time visitors find themselves
INSTAGRAM | @sbccypress asking that question when they step into one of our worship services. With so many people in
attendance, how is it possible to build community here? At Second Baptist Church, our answer to
that question is Bible Study.
Bible Study is the backbone of our church family, and it serves as the primary outlet for individuals
to get connected, build support systems, and utilize their spiritual gifts. In many ways, our 14 Adult
WEBSITE | www.second.org/cypress Bible Study classes serve as “little churches” within our very “big church.” Every Sunday, hundreds of
adults gather at 9:30AM to fellowship, pray for another, and grow together in God’s Word.
However, if you attend a class, you’ll quickly discover that Sundays are just the beginning. During
the week, classes continue to cultivate community through socials, home groups, service projects,
and more. Our classes have fun together, and they also take care of one another in times of
APP | Second Baptist Church turmoil. From organizing meal trains for new parents, to visiting class members in the hospital, to
praying for each other’s needs, our classes serve as a support system for our church family.
As you look through this class directory, you will find 14 classes designed with our diverse crowd
in mind. Some classes are organized by age range and marital status, while others are for all
ages and stages of life. We also offer some specialty classes including a Spanish Bible Study and
a Wednesday night class. As you consider making a visit to one of these classes, please keep in

Here at the Cypress Campus, we don’t think of ourselves as a “big church,” but rather a “small

HUNDREDS OF JUNIOR HIGH AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS gather on
the 3rd floor every weekend for Second Students Bible Study! The entire
floor is devoted to our student ministry and provides a fun and exciting
environment for our students to learn God’s Word. Our Bible Study
program starts with two large group sessions, one for HS Students and
the other for JH students. The large group programs feature fun games,
videos, and great teaching from our Student Ministry staff. From there,
students break out into small groups led by trained adult leaders. These
break out groups help students build relationships with one another
and learn how to apply that day’s lesson to their lives.
