Campus. In today’s world, it is very important for any Higher Education Institution to upgrade the
qualification of teachers /staff up to Doctorate Level. The Major challenges that many Higher
Education Institutions face is to provide the time to their staff for pursuing PhD program. Considering
this, LPU has created a unique and flexible PhD program for such teachers/ staff who cannot spend
much time away from home institution but can contribute towards development of society with their
research in the various fields.
LPU – Bangladesh, PhD Scholarship 2020
The salient features of this scholarship scheme are:
1. Scholarship will be offered for the Intake Session of January 2021 only. (Enrollment Ongoing)
2. The scheme shall be offered to the faculty members/staff of American International University
– Bangladesh (AIUB) only
3. The Scholarship will be offered only for the PhD Program offered by LPU. Available streams of
PhD as per Annexure B.
4. The total number of scholarships shall be initially Ten (10), out of which Two (2) will be on 100%
Scholarship and Eight (8) will be on 50% Scholarship and will be applicable only on tuition fee
payable for standard duration of the program opted by the student; and the student shall be
obliged to pay all other charges, as prescribed by the LPU from time to time & also the tuition feeand examination fee for the duration exceeding the standard duration of program, due to non-
completion of program for any reason whatsoever.
5. Eligibility criteria to secure the scholarship are as follows (Additional details in Annexure A):

*** Provided always that the admission of the students will be made in accordance with the
prescribed eligibility conditions and other guidelines prescribed by the LPU and the decision of the
LPU shall be final with regard to all the matter relating to the admission. ***Annexure A
LPU PhD Programs are offered in more than 35 disciplines under which a student has to complete
the research course work in 3 weeks’ time, by getting all the support from the supervisor online and
present the progress report once in 6 months face to face in the university (LPU). This opportunity
would be very useful for your teachers/staff members. LPU’s PhD Programs are so unique that
support all kind of candidates from Academia to Industries.
Silent Features:
• Flexi Course Work Options: (Applicant can choose any of three options).
Option I: Classes on weekends (Saturday and Sunday only) (Preferable for Full Time PhD
Candidates)
Option II: Regular Classes for 15 days of course work.
Option III: Course work of 4 days* every month for 4 months.
• Option to do course work in any of the initial two semesters (First/Second Semester).
• After completion of coursework, the candidate will be assigned the supervisor and he/she have
to visit the university once in 6 months to present the progress on research work.
• Travel and University Scholarly Communication Grant for attending conferences and publishing
research papers in journals of repute indexed in WoS/Scopus as per university policy.
• Unique LPU-UMS account for each Ph.D. student to check his / her progress record.
Step by Step procedure to apply for Admission for Ph.D. Program:
• Send us the filled Admission Application form along with all educational results & transcripts,
Copy of Valid Passport, Research Proposal (Minimum 8 Pages) via email to
int.admissions@lpu.co.in.
• After evaluation of eligibility & Research Proposal, successful candidates will be called for an
Online Interview (via Skype or WhatsApp).
• Once the candidate is selected, Offer of Admission will be issued to the candidate.
• Applicants then have to submit the prescribed provisional registration fee and send us the
payment transferred proof along with duly filled and signed “Acceptance of Offer Letter”.
• After that, the candidate can apply for the visa as per the dates of the Course Work.Annexure B S.
