Durham College has adopted this concept and applied it to a diverse range of programs that crossover traditional academic schools with the curriculum,
faculty expertise and equipment required to implement field-to-fork, built into several of the college’s programs. The CFF is also home to a number of
hospitality-focused programs from Culinary Management to Horticulture – Food and Farming. Whether you want to be in the kitchen, or in the field, the CFF

outside of the college.
Our MAD learning environment is enriched by its close proximity to galleries, museums and studios in Oshawa, Whitby and Toronto. MAD students learn to
combine their professional education with the entrepreneurial skills needed to build a successful career in Ontario’s vibrant culture sector.
MAD grads use their creativity to make a real contribution at work, in their communities and in their own lives.
“With the Advertising – Digital Media Management program I am gaining first-hand industry insight.
The specialized experience of my professors and the assignments are helping me a lot to prepare for the
work environment. The in-class activities help to build up team-work and makes class more fun to learn.”

“Enrolling in the Paralegal program at Durham College has been one of my best
decisions so far. Having the support and guidance of the teachers, be it with
assignments, tests, or mock trials, it’s clear to see that the faculty work very hard
to inspire students to succeed.
My goal once I graduate is to work in small claims court and take on cases related to
resident and landlord tenancy as well as traffic ticketing cases.”
Samiksha Negi from India

The School of Interdisciplinary Studies is a diverse school that offers the pre-health science and general arts and science certificate programs.
Additionally, the school delivers communication and general education elective courses to programs across the college.
The pre-health science programs prepare students for further studies in nursing or other health disciplines. The general arts and science programs are
open-enrolment, preparatory studies programs for students who wish to further their education at college or university in the liberal arts or sciences but
need to acquire the necessary courses or raise their grades for admission. Both the pre-health science and general arts and science programs focus on
strengthening mathematics, science, communication and computer skills, for academic/career pathways in specific college and university programs.
“The General Arts and Science program has given me the confidence
and clarity in the career path I have always wanted to take. It’s a
program that caters to all – those who are uncertain and those who
are certain of what they want to do. I would highly recommend it
because it not only opens up many opportunities, it also gives you the
foundation for a great career.”
