Walk to discover Rimini with Elen Souza and Francesca Del Bianco
A walk led by Personal Trainer Elen Souza and by the Tourist Guide Francesca Del Bianco.
You will walk around Rimini along a circular route of about 8 km, starting from the Igloo installed on the beach at
Beach resort 26 up to the historic center of the city and back.
Along the way you will discover 'the 10 things you thought you knew about Rimini but perhaps you didn't'. A way
to play sports and discover Renaissance Rimini.
Participation is limited to 50 people, and is free, a short reimbursement of expenses will be requested for the use

Photo exhibition at the Image Gallery
Photographic exhibition celebrating the centenary of the birth of Amedeo Montemaggi (1923-2023), with
unpublished images from the archive of this important protagonist of the city's culture.
Known as a journalist, founder of the Rimini editorial staff of Resto del Carlino in the 1950s, popularizer of the
artistic beauties of Rimini and finally a historian with a passion for the events of the Gothic Line, his photographic
activity was so far completely unknown, documented by the recent discovery in his home of over 40,000
negatives.
These are visual testimonies of the reconstruction of Rimini's society and landscapes, with the first years of the
tourist boom, social events, fashion and personalities of that era in which the foundations of contemporary Rimini
were laid.

Exhibition of paintings by the artist Pauli Jaakko Hirvi
The exhibition "The journey of Jaakko" opens on Saturday 4 March at 5.00pm in the Sala Sant'Agostino.
The young Finnish restorer, creative and painting enthusiast, had moved to Rimini with his family as a child, and
in June 2001 he was the victim of a road accident, killed by two cars racing each other along the seafront.
Mother Tea and friends remember him with this exhibition and with a meeting held on Thursday 9 March, 6.00pm,
at the cinema Tiberio, entitled “Jaakko's journey. Mothers who transform loss into a project of love".
Speakers at the conference Terttu (Tea) Kaikkonen Marangoni, mother of Jaakko; Alessandro Giovanardi,
historian and art critic; Arianna Franchi, psychologist and psychotherapist; Mariangela Maestri, president of the
association "Le ali di Chiara"; some friends of Jaakko. Moderator Gigliola Ricci.
The exhibition "The journey of Jaakko" opens until Sunday 12 March, every day, 4.00pm-7.00pm with free
admission.
The project, promoted by Acli Arte e Spettacolo di Rimini, the provincial Acli of Rimini and the Acli Rimini
Women's Coordination, adheres to the calendar of 8 March initiatives of the Casa delle Donne and the Rimini

On 15 March the Legio XIII Gemina commemorates the conspiracy against Gaius Julius Caesar
Gaius Julius Caesar was assassinated on 15 March of 44 B.C.
This date is historically known as "the Ides of March".
Wednesday 15 March 2023 Rimini wants to commemorate the historic event in the place where tradition tells that
Caesar had harangued the legionaries of the XIII Gemina Legion after the passage of the Rubicone river.
The ceremony includes the deposition, by the "legionaries", of a laurel crown at the foot of the 'Suggestum'
located in Piazza Tre Martiri, the place where more than two thousand years ago Julius Caesar pronounced the
famous phrase "ALEA IACTA EST".

On the occasion of Saint Joseph's feast, the tourist committee of Torre Pedrera proposes a ‘fogheraccia’ , a
traditional bonfire in the area of the Church of San Giovanni in Bagno.
An opportunity to gather around the traditional bonfire and take part in a moment of celebration.
Just as our grandparents once threw old things and scraps into the fire to leave the cold winter behind, you are
invited to write or draw, on a piece of paper, your thoughts, fears or things you would like to disappear. Then you
can hang your paper on the Tree of Wishes, prepared with dry branches, that will be burned in the fire all
together.
During the evening a corner is set up with blankets and pillows where adults and children listen to stories about
the country, its traditions and anecdotes.
In addition, you can enjoy music, dancing around the fire and marshmallow skewers to be cooked over the flame.

For this tribute, June's alumni, (now professional dancers themselves, choreographers, teachers, artists,
directors), and former colleagues have enthusiastically and generously re-enacted or revisited excerpts from her
extensive repertoire as well as devised previously unreleased works.
In fact, June Gallagher is not only a dancer and teacher, but a brilliant and innovative choreographer and an
inexhaustible source of inspiration. Over the years she had a role as a true protagonist in the main Italian and
European dance events of her generation.

The traditional bonfires on the free beach in piazzale Boscovich
That of ‘fogheraccia’ is a very ancient custom, a propitiatory rite for an abundant harvest, which is linked to the
Roman calendar, according to which the year began in March, dedicated to Mars, god of agriculture, as well as of
war .
This rite greeted the beginning of the agricultural year with the lighting of bonfires made of brushwood, straw and
what remained of the previous year's crops together with dry branches deriving from pruning practiced in view of
the summer.
Here in Romagna the preparation of ‘fogheracce’ has always been a ritual in itself: the peasants lit fires to burn
the pruning while in the days before the anniversary, young people, children and the elderly, collected objects no
longer used, old furniture, rags and piled them up to make bonfires. In Romagna they are traditionally called
Focheracce or Fugarine di San Giuseppe, because they are held on the occasion of the feast of St. Joseph and of
all fathers.
These were moments of village aggregation, as Fellini masterfully describes in "Amarcord", which are still alive in
the soul of Rimini. As a matter of fact, every year, in the evening of March 18th, Rimini celebrates the feast with
the traditional bonfires often accompanied by music, donut and mulled wine, without forgetting the typical piadina.
The biggest bonfire in Rimini is on the free beach in Marina Centro, near the canal port area. Here from the
afternoon a market of various kinds animates the promenade with colorful stalls (from around 5 pm). Turning on of
the fogheraccia at about 9 pm.

temporary garden full of spring colors and blooms that dialogues with the formal green space of the courtyard of
the Part, the new museum of modern and contemporary art in Rimini and with the body of water that embraces
Castel Sismondo, the Francesca da Rimini arena up to the Bosco dei Nomi dedicated to the poetics of Tonino
Guerra and created following the lines of the contemporary garden.

The Rimini Marathon is back, the great national and international sporting event that involves an entire city,
touching the most characteristic and evocative places and squares.
In addition to the 42 km marathon and the 21 km half marathon, there are: La Ventina 20 km, Family Run 6 km,

Also this year the national gathering of wheelchair "pushers" will be re-proposed, or groups that make disabled

Amintore Galli Theatre: La Bohème by Giacomo Puccini

Opera Season 2023 of the Galli Theater
La Bohème by Giacomo Puccini is one of the two masterpieces of musical theater of the 2023 Opera Season of
the Galli Theater. Puccini's opera is inspired by the novel by Henry Murger and is the first title of a program which
will then continue in the autumn with the Verdi's opera 'Don Carlo'.
For La Bohème, direction and scenic design are by Cristina Mazzavillani Muti, who brings the story of fragile Mimì
to the stage of the Galli Theater, of the love that overwhelms her and Rodolfo, and of the disillusioned dreams of
the young and dishevelled artists who surround them.
On the podium of the Luigi Cherubini Youth Orchestra Maestro Nicola Paszkowski with the Municipal Theater
Choir of Piacenza directed by Corrado Casati.
The protagonists of the opera are the soprano Juliana Grigoryan (Mimì), the tenor Alessandro Scotto di Luzio
(Rodolfo), the soprano Alessia Pintossi (Musetta) and the baritone Christian Federici (Marcello). The cast is
completed by Clemente Antonio Daliotti, Andrea Vittorio De Campo, Fabio Baruzzi, Graziano Della Valle and Ivan
Merlo.
Vincent Longuemare for the lights, David Loom for the videos and Manuela Monti for the costumes.
The staging was born as a production of the Alighieri Theater in co-production with the Galli Theater of Rimini.
