It’s a time for nesting, and for the use of fire (karla). Karla is
at the very heart of our culture, for the Aboriginal people,
karla is of great significance, It’s a centrepiece for family and
gatherings but also a daily necessity, for cooking, warmth
and light. Sitting round the crackling Karla is not only a good
feeling, it helps people relax and become more receptive to
conversation and information, which builds stronger bonds
with one another, healing our spirituality.

The Common is lifting your cheese toastie game, by pitting the best chefs in town against each other. Their mission? Make the best dang cheese toastie on the west coast.
