Gazoo Racing has won the 86th 24 Hours of Le Mans with POSITION NUMBER / TEAM / DRIVERS LAPS
hybrid race cars.
1 #8 Toyota Gazoo Racing 388
Toyota has entered 47 cars in more than 20 Le Mans (Buemi, Nakajima, Alonso)
endurance competitions, finishing on the podium six times.
It is only the second Japanese manufacturer to win Le Mans, 2 #7 Toyota Gazoo Racing +2
with Nakajima becoming the first Japanese driver to win in a (Conway, Kobayashi, López)
Japanese car.
The team’s win in hybrid electric powered cars demonstrates
the resilience of the technology in even the most arduous
conditions. The cars even used 35% less fuel than in 2012,
when Toyota returned to international endurance racing.

5LEXUS SELF-CHARGING HYBRID:
NO PLUG-IN REQUIRED
6The Lexus Self-Charging Hybrid system seamlessly
combines petrol and electric power so the vehicle
charges itself as you drive. There’s no need to
plug in or charge overnight. Whenever the petrol
engine is running, it drives the generator to
charge the battery.
Hybrid fuel-saving technology automatically
switches between the electric motor and petrol
engine. So when you are driving in full electric
mode, this means no petrol will be used, and
there will be zero emissions. But should you
need a sudden burst of power, the petrol engine
provides support. When braking, energy is also
recovered to charge the battery.
With over 1.3 million Lexus hybrids sold
worldwide, hybrid luxury is here to stay.
