PRINCIPAL NEWS
Dear parents and guardians
We are now in the final stage of term 3 and remind our community that teaching and
learning occurs right up till 2:50pm on Friday 18th September. Please ensure that all
students are attending each and every day to ensure they are keeping up with all
learning activities in their class. We have had a great term 3 and are looking forward
to keeping our standards high for the remainder of the term. This Friday we get to
recognise our KOALA recipients for term 3. The KOALA award is provided to students that meet our
school values of being respectful, responsible and being a learner each and every day during the
term. Due to the complexities that 2020 has presented, this will be the first ceremony to recognise these
students. Unfortunately this is just for staff and students to attend due to COVID-19 restrictions however
plenty of photos will be displayed on our Facebook page after the event. All 132 KOALA recipients will
also be spending the morning session on Monday 14 September on the Kindy Sport equipment that
has been organised which will be a lot of fun for our students.
The majority of our school correspondence is now occurring on our school
Facebook Page (Glenmore State School). I encourage all members to like our page
so you are aware of all school related information and success stories that occur.
At times we will be using provided email addresses and mobile numbers to
communicate to our families. If your details change, please let our administration
know so you are receiving the latest news.
We are well and truly beginning to enrol students for the upcoming 2021 school year. If you are aware
of any new families coming to our school next year, including prep students, please let them know we
are now conducting enrolment interviews. New families are encouraged to contact the school
administration team on 4923 0666 to discuss this further, gather required documentation and also book
in an interview time. We are looking to welcoming new members to our school in preparation of the
2021 school year.
Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions in place, I have purposely not made a decision on key end of
year events including the awards ceremony, Glenmore Celebrates night, prep 2021 transitions as well
as the Year 6 graduation. A decision regarding these events will be announced at the start of next
term as we know circumstances are very fluid during these unprecedented times. That being said, I
sincerely thank our community for complying with the current COVID-19 restrictions we have in place,
most notably remaining off school grounds as well as the new drop off/pick up arrangements we have
in place. These restrictions will continue and I encourage all to be responsible when using the drop off
and pick up zones and following all road rules. Most would be aware that Ooshies are the latest interest for students who are collecting these from
Woolworths. To avoid any loss/unfair trades, these are not permitted to be brought to school. Please
keep them safe and sound at home.
I wish all families a happy and safe September holidays. School resumes on Tuesday 6 th October at
8:50am.
