PROPOSED ITINERARY TO THE
34th INTERNATIONAL ALGARVE
RUGBY TOURNAMENT
7TH MAY
GENERAL INFORMATION
A trip to the Algarve will allow you to play rugby in an area justly famous for its endless expanse of
clean sandy beaches. Your accommodation is ideally situated at the top of ‘The Strip’ a mile long
street of bars, restaurants and discos and within walking distance of the beach. The temperatures
at this time of the year are usually in the high 70's with 9 hours of sunshine and this, combined with
the excellent nightlife, will provide for a memorable tour.
Your club will be entered in the “34th International Algarve Rugby Tournament", a prestigious
tournament that in the past has seen teams from Spain, Portugal, England, Africa, Italy, France,
Gibraltar, Belgium, Wales and Scotland compete. The tournament is held on one day with the XV-a-
side games lasting 30 minutes.

FRIDAY 6th MAY 2022
You will assemble at your chosen airport for your flight to Faro, which will take approximately 3
hours. After a short transfer from the airport you will arrive at your accommodation in the heart of
Albufeira. Subject to flight times, the afternoon will be free while in the evening you will no doubt
wish to explore ‘The Strip’, or perhaps head for the "Old Town" with its narrow winding streets and
excellent fish restaurants located on the harbour front.

SATURDAY 7TH MAY 2022
Today your coach will transfer you to Loule RC for the Tournament. This usually takes the
format of a 15-a-side tournament playing matches lasting 15 minutes each way.
12.00 – 20.00: XXXIV INTERNATIONAL ALGARVE RUGBY TOURNAMENT
After the days rugby you will head off to enjoy the renowned after match dinner where you will
have a sit down meal in Loule’s club house with all the other teams, talking about the weekend and
a few songs together. Then you will go on to enjoy the after-tournament party (included in your
costs at £20 per person) before you return to Albufeira.

This will be a free day, where a trip to one of the areas water parks is highly recommended. For the
daredevil, try the Banzai Boggan gliding down 23 metres of sheer excitement at Aqualand. Also,
have a go on the Kamikaze, a 92 metre slide.
Alternatively, you may choose to enjoy a round of golf on one of the areas many fine courses which
have hosted the European tour over 35 times such as the Dom Pedro Old Course & Clube de Golfe
da Quinta do Lago.

The evening is again free to explore the variety of nightlife on offer along the popular strip such as
Matt’s Bar, Reno’s, LaBamba, The Garage, Mambo, Patcha, Celebration, Wild&co.

MONDAY 9TH MAY 2022
After a final day sunbathing on the nearby beaches or at the side of the hotel pool, your coach will
transfer you to the airport for your return flight. (subject to flight times) If your feeling a bit more
adventurous we can arrange a group activity for you in the area such as a buggy tour, reef fishing or
even hire an inflatable water assault course.
