The University of Guelph The University of Guelph was founded in 1964 with the amalgamation of Ontario Veterinary College, Ontario Agricultural College and MacDonald Institute. It is a medium sized university with enrollment of over 20,000 undergraduate and graduate students and nearly 3,000 faculty and staff. The campus sits on over 1,000 acres of land in the South end of the city, which includes the Arboretum, and Research Park off Stone Road. The University of Guelph is known for being one of the top comprehensive Universities in Canada as well as having an above average graduation rating and the best campus food services. The current President is Alistair Summerlee, who has held the position since 2003. Guelph Gryphon Soccer Complex
GGSC was opened in the Fall of 2011 and is considered to be the
premier Soccer specific complex in the area. It features two full size
fields that have achieved FIFA 2-STAR certification, a single synthetic
mini-practice field and a state of the art natural grass field all of which
have received top ratings for playability and safety. The synthetic turf
was supplied by Polytan, the top supplier of synthetic turf in Europe,
and was designed with an elastic shock pad for additional safety. The
synthetic fields play as close to natural turf as possible and have hosted
Varsity Soccer, Rugby and Lacrosse competitions. It truly is the best
synthetic solution for Multi-Sport competition, but our soccer players
love it the best.

April 1st - June 25th and September 7th - November 30th
8:00am to 4:00pm - Monday through Friday
June 26th - September 6th and December 1st - March 31st
8:00am to Midnight - Monday through Sunday
Insurance- General Liability Insurance in the amount of $2,000,000 must be provided,
naming the University of Guelph as an additional insured, before the use of Athletic Fields.
Insurance can be provided by your provider or purchased at time of booking.
Concessions - operated by Department of Athletics Staff unless otherwise negotiated

Field Rules and Regulations
Please Observe The Following:
1. Do not climb Fence to gain access. Severe Injury can
result.
2. NO ANIMALS allowed. All animals must remain outside
the fence
3. Plastic Water Bottles containing WATER ONLY inside
Fence Area. Absolutely NO glass containers.
4. NO FOOD products allowed inside the Fence area or on
the turf; including GUM, JUICE, POP and all SEED or NUT
products.
5. PLASTIC MOULDED CLEATS ONLY. Absolutely NO metal
cleats or spikes allowed.
6. Absolutely NO ALCOHOL or TOBACCO products allowed.
7. NO Bicycles, Skateboards, or Motorized Vehicles allowed
in Fence area.
8. Fireworks or other Explosive devices are not permitted.
9. NO LOITERING, other users will be accessing the field
immediately upon your rental completion.
Athletic Facility use requires Administrative approval from
the Department of Athletics. Permitted Use ONLY.
NO TRESPASSING- Field use is for University of Guelph

Monday- Friday 8am-5pm MUST be at a meter for $2/hr that
clients/users ensure sufficient coverage at own expense or with a
valid permit in main area of specified parking lots. FAILURE to do so
may result in fines from $20 -$300 and/ or vehicle towed. Day
parking passes are also available at the client service desk for $10.00
taxes included.

**FieldDirections From the East: - Follow Highway 401 West to the Brock Road Exit (299). - Drive North into Guelph, Brock Road turns into Gordon Street. - Turn Right off of Gordon onto College Ave. - Once on College, go down the hill, (you will see the Alumni Stadium on your right), turn Right onto East Ring Road at lights on College Ave., continue along East Ring Road until you arrive at the crosswalk and turn left onto Arboretum Road . The Soccer Complex will be on your right. From the West: - Follow Highway 401 East to the Highway 6 North Exit (295). - Drive North into Guelph on Hwy 6. - Turn Right off of Hwy 6, onto College Ave. - Once on College, go down the hill, (you will see the Alumni Stadium on your right), turn Right onto East Ring Road at lights on College Ave., continue along East Ring Road until you arrive at the crosswalk and turn left onto Arboretum Road . The Soccer Complex will be on your right. From the South: - Follow Highway 6 North, turns into Brock Road and then Gordon St. - Turn Right off Gordon St onto College Ave. - Once on College, go down the hill, (you will see the Alumni Stadium on your right), turn Right onto East Ring Road at lights on College Ave., continue along East Ring Road until you arrive at the crosswalk and turn left onto Arboretum Road . The Soccer Complex will be on your right. From the North West: - Follow Highway 7 Kitchener into Guelph, it becomes Woodlawn Rd. - Turn Right onto Hanlon Parkway/Highway 6. - Turn left onto College Avenue and pass Edinburgh and Gordon Sts. - Continue on College, go down the hill on campus, (you will see the Alumni Stadium on your right), turn Right onto East Ring Road at lights on College Ave., continue along East Ring Road until you arrive at the crosswalk and turn left onto Arboretum Road . The Soccer Complex will be on your right.
On Campus Dining In the Gryphon Centre: The Gryphon Centre has a couple different options for food. There is Tim Horton’s Located in the Main lobby as well as Gryphs Sports Lounge which offers a tasty Bar menu. In the University Centre: The main dining location on campus, the University Centre offers a wide variety of meal options. Stop by Centre 6 for a large variety of cafeteria style food. Pita Pit, The Grill House, and Teriyaki are only a couple of the delicious options. If you’re looking for a sit down meal, try The Brass Taps’ tasty menu.
