Sudprogetti was incorporated, as a joint stock company, in 1973, when a
project for the new Isab refinery in Priolo, Sicily, was implemented.
Its aim was to supply engineering services to the main industrial groups in
the Siracusa area.

strengthening its standing in the territory and reaching a leading position
in the local market, Sudprogetti extended its operating capacity to all of Sicily
and to other industrial sites throughout Italy with increased renown for high
flexibility in organization and operation.
Nowadays Sudprogetti does business in the field of engineering and construction
of petrochemical plants, mainly in revamping and plant shutdown maintenance
activities. The company and its subsidiaries have an overall manpower of
150.000 engineering hours per year.
Throughout more than three decades of activity, Sudprogetti improved its
qualifications in the engineering field, by offering a wide range of high technology
services with its very flexible and highly qualified organization. Sudprogetti
can provide a well coordinated team of professionals committed to meeting
schedules and staying within budget. In Sudprogetti, throughout the company,
there is a keen awareness of the need for sound safety and environmental
practices.
Sudprogetti was awarded a Quality System Certificate, based on UNI EN ISO
9001 standards, by Moody International Certification.
The steady revenue growth achieved by Sudprogetti over the last decade of
its operating life shows that the company’s expansion strategy was well planned
and its management very careful and professional.
Recently Sudprogetti initiated a promotion and marketing campaign in Europe
and in several African and Middle East countries, where a sound chemical
and petrochemical industry is well established.
Process design and development: Sudprogetti offers, by itself or through
specific exclusive agreements with companies specialized in the relevant field,
leading edge technologies and processes in the petrochemical sector.
Problem solving know-how for maintenance activities: As an engineering
company and general contractor, Sudprogetti has dealt with the main issues
related to the implementation of technology, upgrading projects for major
plants in the petrochemical sector, by developing a series of operating practices
– based on the use of dedicated software – to optimize shutdown schedule
and costs as well as plant update requirements.
Project flexibility: On account of its medium size dimension, Sudprogetti can
carry out projects with extreme flexibility in terms of objectives sought and
achieve assignments that others would consider problematic.
OUR STRENGTHS
Methodology approach: In the course of its business life Sudprogetti has
dealt mostly with projects characterized by different forms of involvement in
accountability for the project success (turn-key agreements, cost plus fee with
maximum guaranteed amount, etc.). The approach normally followed by the
company, which is now its “structural mentality”, is to find the best solution for
a project that is a good compromise between quality, time and costs, always
having in mind safety as a priority factor.
