CELEBRATIONS

REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION
January 26 marks an important day in India's history. Students of Delhi World
Public School, Ajmer celebrated the 72nd Republic Day in the most vibrant and
enthusiastic manner by presenting an exquisite assembly virtually. The Principal
and teachers did the flag-hoisting ceremony; while the students were only
allowed to attend the celebrations virtually. The program was full of patriotic
fervor. The tiny tots of pre- primary sang, tapped their feet on patriotic songs.
Senior students displayed cultural performances and dances to showcase the
culture and tradition of our country. The most amazing and mesmerizing event
of the show was the wonderful art and craft work presented by them.
It was amazing to see children's enthusiasm. Parents' support was also
commendable.

MAKAR SAKRANTI CELEBRATION - PRE PRIMARY
Every year Makar Sankranti is celebrated in the month of
January to mark the winter solstice. As it is the festival of
Sun God and he is regarded as the symbol of divinity and
wisdom, the festival also holds an eternal meaning.
Celebrating festivals in school bring awareness and
cultural belief in the children.
Keeping this in mind, Makar Sankranti was celebrated
virtually on January 14, 2021 by the children of Pre-
Primary. The children gracefully depicted traditional
dressing styles and participated in kite making activity
using finger printing and ribbons to design and decorate
their kites. They were also explained the importance of
Makar Sankranti. The celebration was thoroughly
enjoyed by our tiny tots.

ISA MEMORABILIA
A Project based on Heritage Sites of India & the World

People without knowledge of their past history, origin, and culture is like a tree
without roots.
Keeping this quote in mind, we started this ISA Heritage Project in the month of
December. The students of classes 7 to 9 were involved in this project. Students were
divided in teams of six.
We organized a Guest Lecture, where we invited Mrs. Sanghamitra Sengupta, HOD of
Social Science Department of Birla High School to tell us about the importance of
preserving our heritage. We showed four PPTs about the following places –
Chittorgarh, Thailand, Malaysia and Dubai. There were words of appreciation from
both - our Principal, Mr. Bhanu Pant and Dean Academics, Mrs. Mamta Bhargava.
As this was a collaborative project, we had an exchange program with Abu Dhabi
Indian School, UAE. This program had the following highlights –
   · Principals of both the schools inaugurated this first ever exchange program of
     DWPS.
   · Through exchange of emails, the teachers of the two schools mutually decided
on the activities to be done.
   · Our students prepared a questionnaire and shared it with the partner schools to
     know about their historical monuments.
   · Students also shared a report of “The heritage site in our own country."
   · Interaction on Zoom helped them to extend the learning and clarify doubts, if
     any.
   · Students of both the schools made a comparative study of the historical
monuments in both the countries and discussed about methods of
conservation of Heritage sites adopted in their countries.
   · The learning was presented through posters / charts and PPT.
   · Report Writing was shared with the partner schools.
The exchange program ended on a positive note, where teachers and students of
both the schools felt the need of a physical visit to each other's countries.

emotion recollected in tranquility.”

memorization skill, voice modulation etc. Taking this fact into consideration, our
children got an opportunity to exhibit their talent and confidence by participating
in English Recitation Competition on 8th January, 2021. The children participated
enthusiastically with their props and actions. The judges appreciated and
