After the race
Rickshaws:
Contact: Rebecca Kemp (0207 848 2291)
Once you’ve crossed the finish line there’s a lot to look forward to. The first being our post-race
rickshaws!
At the end of the race simply walk down towards Trafalgar Square
through The Mall and through Admiralty arch and you’ll see our
volunteers and rickshaws on the corner (Spring Gardens) all decked out
and ready to go to the post-race reception.
The finish area itself gets very busy so it’s probably best to set a meeting
point with your friends and family somewhat away from it if possible. Some
good options are the meeting points in Horse Guards Road and Horse
Guards Parade, which has areas marked by letters of the alphabet, this
rickshaw meeting point or at the post-race reception.
The rickshaws are primarily for runners, so please advise your friends and
family that they will unlikely be able to join you in the rickshaws. The post-race reception is a 16 minute
walk from Spring Gardens or a short bus or tube ride away.
The area will be very busy. If it proves too congested for the rickshaws to move through, we will move
the pickup point to Charing Cross station.
Timings: We will have 4 rickshaws going back and forth from Spring Gardens to the post-race reception
venue from 1:30pm-6pm.

Before setting off, here are a few things for family and friends to consider:
• The London Marathon website’s spectator’s info section has full details of road and station
closures to help your family/friends plan their journey.
• Travel light – spectators will be standing at the cheer points, so keep your belongings to a
minimum and leave your valuables at home.
• Comfortable clothes and shoes – there’s lots of walking involved so plan your route
• Be prepared for the weather and bring enough layers!
• It’s busy! You will often have to queue, and some stations may be shut so consider planning
your routes with extra time in mind.
• Check travel updates before you leave home – visit http://www.tfl.gov.uk/ to get the latest
news.
