                              From the President
                                    Mike Anchor

Happy March! As I write this, we are about 2 months from our show (85 days, to be exact)!
2018 has been flying by. The show committee has been hard at work planning the show, but
we still have lots to do and lots we need. Putting on a MCA National Show requires the
assistance of the entire club. I will have a sign up sheet at the meeting, so please think about
where you will be able to assist; parking, classification, runners, registration, silent auction,
tally room, etc. We will probably need help in all areas and in some cases, we will need club
members to assist in multiple areas. I am hoping that everyone will avail themselves the entire
weekend.

We also need assistance in other areas. We need silent auction items, trophy sponsors,
program ad sponsors, vendors and show sponsors. Time is drawing near, so if you know of
someone that would like to support our show in this manner, please contact them.

So much for the show (for now). I hope to see everyone at the meeting on March 6th.

See y’all at Pizza Central
Mike

                                                                                         PAGE 2

                         From the Vice-President
                                  Don Blackstock

We had a great turnout at our last meeting; it’s great to see so many come out.
                                     Don Blackstock
Our National Show is coming up quick and we still are in need of volunteers for every
aspect of the show. Please don’t assume we have enough help - at our meeting we will be
passing around a sign up sheet. Jump in - the waters fine! We promise to let you have fun (aka
"work").

Spring is around the corner, if you have an idea for a road trip to let the ponies run, let’s put
something together.

Hope to see you soon, take care

                                   James Aldridge

Spring is definitely in the air! Just look at all the flowers and trees blooming bring back
color to the environment – and I’m not just talking about the pollen! March is also the time of
year that the car scene starts awaking from the winter hibernation. There is probably
something going on locally and within same day driving distance every weekend if you look
hard enough. Anything from cruise-ins, fund raisers, and judged car shows. I will try to publish
as many events as I know about so you can have a good idea of what’s going on in the area.
If you hear or know of an event, please send the info to me so we can put it in the newsletter.
You can send a scanned flyer, a web address, a Facebook event, or an email with whatever
you may know.

One event coming up this Saturday, March 10, from 9am to 3pm, is the local Coffee and
Cars gathering. This month it will be held at Carolina Dragway in Jackson, SC. Entry is free
but they are requesting that everyone bring a new book for the Toys for Tots Literacy
Program Book Drive. There will be vendors and plenty of cars on display. They will also be
running cars down the track but there is a cost of $20 for as many runs as you can get in. The
new owners of the track have just re-paved the track surface and put in new bleachers with
more improvements to come. If you are interested, we will be riding over as a group around 8-
815am Saturday morning. More info to come later in the week.

If you haven’t already heard, CSRA Mustang Club member, David Miles, is selling his
1988 Ford Mustang ASC / McLaren. He is using RK Motors in Charlotte, NC. They did a
fantastic job of depicting and describing the car on their website. If you are looking to sell your
classic or rare Mustang, you may want to check these guys out. You can see the write-up for

                           YUK, YUCK!!
Dad joke…
How do you make holy water? You boil the hell out of it!

An Irish priest and a Rabbi get into a car accident. They both get out of their cars and stumble
over to the side of the road. The Rabbi looks at the smashed cars and says, "Oy vey! What a
wreck, what a wreck!"

The priest asks him, "Are you all right, Rabbi?"

The Rabbi responds, "Just a little shaken."

The priest pulls a flask of whiskey from his coat and says, "Here, drink some of this. It will calm
your nerves." The Rabbi takes a swig and shakes his head ruefully, still looking at the cars.
They are severely damaged. "Oh, but this will be sooo expensive!" he says.

"Yeah, well, it's just money, rabbi. Have another swig; in fact you can drink the whole bottle if
you like."

The rabbi nods and drinks most of the bottle, never taking his eyes off the broken cars. Then he
turns to the priest and says, "What are we going to tell the police?"

"Well," the priest says, "I don't know what you're going to be telling them. But I'll be telling
them I wasn't the one drinking."
