Hunting in MAURITIUS – a paradise in the Indian Ocean
Mauritius
Mauritius is renowned for it’s white sandy beaches, turquoise sea and exclusive hotels. What
most guests don’t know: The island is also perfectly suited for hunting trips, which can be
combined with a beach or family holiday. Hunting here consists mainly of Rusa Deer and Wild
Boars. Rusa Deer, which are native to East Asia, can develop antlers that weigh up to 8kg. The
best season for hunting is from June to early December, however Mauritius has a subtropical
climate and therefore it is generally recommended to travel in the period between June and
October.
From the airport situated in the southeast, you have a short transfer to the hotel.
Accommodation options: You can either choose between Paradis Beachcomber Golf Resort &
Spa 5* (Half Board or Escape Package) or Tamarina Golf & Spa Boutique Hotel 4*.

There are different game species that can be hunted, for example Does, Brockets, Wild Boars,
Pheasants, Pigeons and Guinea Fowls (year-round).
We have found a reliable partner in G.D.V. Safaris Co Ltd. who tailors each offer to the
individual customer and perfectly organizes the hunts. The hunting ground encompasses
approximately 4,000 ha and is located in the south of the island. The Deer population is
enormous and battues can also be inquired about. With regard to physical condition hunters
should be prepared, the region is hilly.
