Palliative Care/Splash Packs
The first in person meeting for PCI members after 14 months hiatus due to COVID virus,
is set for Tuesday, May 18, 10 am, on the back deck of my house while keeping safe
distance. We badly need travel size shampoos & conditioners. Since traveling is limited
these days, you may ask your hair salon if they have any samples to donate, also if you
find them in any store let us know.

Lion’s Share
Although the 2020-2021 year was not a usual year, our Lion’s Share Food Drive was still
able to raise $4,400 for our area food pantries. Our donations went to Hershey Food
Bank, Hummelstown Food Pantry and The Caring Cupboard (in Palmyra). With our
monetary donations, including grocery store gift cards, we help these local food banks to
optimally stock their shelves with a variety of fresh and healthy food for the individuals
and families they serve in our community.
A special thank you to all of the departments and areas that participated. Food Services,
The Departments of Medicine, Orthopedics and Rehabilitation and Pharmacy were the
largest donors this year.
The Association of Faculty and Friends looks forward to continuing our support of
organization that address food insecurities in our community next year.

  Nittany Knitters

Have you ever knitted or crocheted prayer shawls? A recent quick survey has identified that
the Infusion units, and inpatient units, would welcome prayer shawls. Please let me know if
you are interested in creating some that we can deliver to the units for you. You may drop
them off at my home, or I can pick them up from your home at your convenience.

We are also looking forward to when we can gather in person, so please contact me when you
are vaccinated and ready to do so. You may contact me at brigbergaff@gmail.com or by
calling my cell at (717)329-5022. At the moment we do not need anymore hats, but we will
let you know when the inventory on hand diminishes.

have now received their first dose of vaccine, The need for volunteers is still great. Below
is a link for signing up to volunteer Some of you are current volunteers so the necessary
paperwork should be in place, therefore requiring one phone call or email to Tracy
Johnson and you can be ready to go. If not and you are interested and want to help, (I
know you are) then email Ashley Visco avisco@pennstatehealth.psu.edu and she will
send an application to get the paperwork started. You will have to get approval from
both legal and compliance to participate.
