Membership Committee Report
Stronger Together! We need YOUR HELP! All Lodges, Chapters and Moose Legionnaires work on
your Member Retention list, this is where we can be plus one.
To Start: Let’s get back together to do what we do best, signing up new or former members.
Let membership know what’s going on in just not our Lodge Home, but what events are going on in
Moose State Activities. Make sure to post in your Lodges the Sports calendar, Michigan Moose State
Convention information, International Convention, and District Meetings. This is where you can share
ideas with other Lodges and maybe steal ideas to use in your own Lodge
Members need to find a purpose for why they join. Like things to do in their communities and activities
in their Lodge.
Remember you don’t have to wait for the new Membership Applications to show up in your Lodge
You can go to Moose International website for online applications.
Please start back up Lodge Orientations and Enrollments so we can educate new members. We are
still asking for ALL Lodge Officers phone numbers and email addresses for the purpose of increasing
communications to the Board of Officers.
Let’s hear from you on your success stories, please email to rwallaert3@gmail.com

Case or Cash helps provide perishable and non- perishable food items for Our Children at Moose-
heart. We collect donations of food or dunds to go and purchase food and supplies to help the
houses at Mooseheart!

The Safe Surfin’ Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit Cyber Safety and Responsibility educational initi-
ative, created by law enforcement professionals in 1998, and dedicated not only to protecting youth
from those who would do them harm, but pro-actively educating them in the safe and responsible
use of today’s ever-changing technology. Together, we’re improving and saving lives. Please join us
in our quest.

The R. Robert Dale Scholarship program has been modified and renamed as the new “Heart of
the Community Scholarship Program,” because R. Robert Dale funds were expended years ago,
and the program is now being supported solely by the Moose Fraternity. We believe this more accu-
rately reflects the fraternity’s commitment to supporting youth in the community.

Youth Awareness For more than 25 years, we have organized high school students into a highly
effective speakers’ bureau with the goal of educating preschool and elementary school-aged chil-
dren on a variety of topics, including drug and alcohol abuse, child abuse, “stranger danger,” bully-
ing and peer pressure, and healthy habits and nutrition. Through Moose Kids-Talks presentations,
participants in the program have reached an audience more than 750,000 children throughout North
America. Students also have a chance to compete for $30,000 in college scholarship money that is
awarded annually through this program.

Founders Day Program Each year before Halloween we visit Mooseheart as an Association for a
weekend of meeting the children and seeing the campus. We collect donations to help with the Re-
verse Trick or Treating where we go house to house and hand out candy for the whole house. We
also collect for the Senior Watches that cost $65 each, or for the Haunted House and Pumpkin dec-
orating event. Members are encouraged to come along and see out Child City.

Rev It Up/Wertz Warriors- working with these 2 groups for Michigan Special Olympics - The mis-
sion of Special Olympics Michigan is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition
for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Athletes develop physical fitness, demonstrate
courage and experience joy while participating in the sharing of gifts, skills and friendship among
their families, Special Olympics athletes and the community. The athletes achieve their dreams with
the support of caring volunteers, coaches, family members and staff. Donations from Michigan citi-
zens and businesses provide funding for the program.

Mooseheart Lights (Separate Check) Every Association donates money towards the Christmas
Lights every year. The tree lighting ceremony is the first Saturday of December every year. People
drive around the campus and make donations to see the Christmas Lights.

Capital Project (Separate Check) Each association takes on a Moose Charities Project as their
Core Project. Michigan is continuing with the MAC (Moose Activity Center) project for Moose Chari-
ties as their Core Project which in turn is the MMA Capitol Project.
