maintained its association with Barry Leef - Doobie Brothers band and Lisa
Hunt throughout NSW. Please see „Hanley Productions - about the producers‟
electronic presentation of the production team and past events.

Hanley Productions will be honored to contribute to a major event like the fore
coming Rugby World Cup 2011 by producing a number of low budget, large-
scale attendance events in connections with the focal moments of the
tournament.

We aim to supply our outstanding music event featuring „middle of the road to
dance favorite classics‟. Producing a vibrant series of shows for the rugby
demographic and a suitable fit for every local event calendar. Attracting “on the
dance floor” thousands of people with performances by exceptionally talented
NZ and International artists bringing the most beloved music to NZ and
international attendance.

The following proposal drafts briefly the main features and managerial issues
related to these events.

2. Calendar & Venues

Basically the shows will take place as a side event of some important rugby
matches along the tournament. The Show will travel throughout the country
with the aim of being available to the widest possible attendance. It‟s structure
makes it suitable to be, depending on the kick off time of the matches, an After
Match event as well as a stand alone performance to suit the local event
calendar as the main feature of the night before/after the match. In Annex 1
we outline a provisional calendar, with a variable number of 6 to 8
performances. The definitive scheduling could significantly vary from that
outlined and ought to be completed together with New Zealand Art Festival and
local organizers.

Through preliminary contacts with local authorities in regional councils the
most suitable places have already been located. Full support of local
administrators is reported in Annex 2. At this stage the following venues have
been selected and approved:

Napier - Sound Shell

New Plymouth - Taranaki Brooklyn Bowl

Christchurch – Cathedral Square

Auckland – Queens Wharf

Contacts are being developed with other local authorities (Dunedin,
Wellington) and relating endorsement will be sent to DIA as soon as they will
be received.

Contingency plans for wet weather are being considered and will be finalized if
this proposal is accepted.

3. Structure of the Event & Performers

Harmonizing the shows staging for the proposed location‟s venue, Hanley
Productions - production team will set up:

Each stage / venue as a 1950‟s Taboo / Voodoo Scene. Providing 3 x large
colorful, 30m x 4m high original artwork murals depicting images of Tiki Art
and 5 x large sculptures (approx 4mt. height) of airbrushed finished Tiki‟s with
a design of „Art forms of the Pacific area‟ made famous in the cult of Polynesian
pop in the fifties America.

The Live music showcase will last approximately 3 and a half hours and will be
performed by:

   - A 12-piece band catering to the music of the 60‟s, 70‟s and 80‟s classics,
       Featuring NZ musicians.

   - Lead vocalist Barry Leaf, NZ / Australia („Doobies Brothers‟, Eagles and
       West Coast Rock show band)

   - Lead vocalist Lisa Hunt, USA / Australia („Shaft‟ - show band)

   - Three piece (NZ Maori vocal harmonies) back up vocals.

   - Two-piece choreographed, NZ dance duo.

Other on stage (show intros) performers are being approached and may be
arranged together with local administrators according to council‟s programs?

A brief description of the performance is outlined in Annex 3.

4. Budget Outline

Based on a preliminary assessment the budget request can be summarized as
follows:

This budget must be considered as provisional and relates only to the calendar
outlined in Annex 1. Changes in number and schedule of the shows would
result in adjustments to the proposed amount.

In consideration of the importance of early bookings (see chapter 5 below):

 25% of the amount to be paid up front within a fortnight of signing
             the contract

 45% of the amount to be paid by March 1st, 2011

 The remaining balances to be paid by the final performance date.

                                        7

5. Managing Timeline

According to the July 28th press release, we consider early November as the
starting point of our work, which could have this provisional timeline:

   - November 15th to 30th: Final calendar of dates and venues to be agreed
       with local organizers

   - December 1st to 31st: Pre – booking of staging, production equipment,

Subject: RWC Show at Napier's Sound Shell
To: Megan Hanley

Hi Megan

It was great to meet you last week and learn of your plans for the traveling show during RWC 2011.

I am pleased to confirm that the Hawke‟s Bay Regional Coordination Group for RWC in Hawke‟s Bay
would enthusiastically support you in your plans to bring the show to Napier.

We discussed venues on the day and I am sure that we agree that the Napier Sound Shell on Marine
Parade offers to best option for the following reasons.
 It is an iconic Art Deco venue right in the heart of the city
 It will be located right next to the centerpiece activity organized by the RCG to run
 right throughout the Tournament (details are still confidential)
 The venue can feel comfortably full with around 3-4000 people in attendance.
 However we do get as many as 25000 there at New Years Eve.
 The 11 year history of the New Years Eve event shows that with adult focused
 entertainment, the crowd you will achieve provides very few behaviour problems.
 The New Years Eve event has also created sound/light/security contractors that are
 very familiar with the venue and its operation
 The adjacent colonnade and arches provide a great place for your sets and decorations
 where they can have a strong effect on the look of the venue but be up and out of
          reach of the public.
 The venue has plenty of power available
 The concept and performers you have chosen would, in my opinion, be ideal for the
 HB audience and would get strong support.
 The stage area may need a thrust added – but this is simple on the flat ground
          available.
 Road closures in this area are simple to achieve.

I hope your proposal to RNZ2011 is successful and we are able to welcome the show to
      Hawke‟s Bay during RWC2011.

      Kind regards

Barry Leef has assembled a hand picked nine-piece band featuring Sydney's best

Barry Leef - (Barry Leef Band, Bakery, Supermarket) – vocal / guitar
Kimi Tupaea – NZ, vocals & drums
Rex Goh - (Australian Idol band, Air Supply, Jenny Morris, Glenn Shorrock, Tommy Emmanuel,
Everyone else!) - guitars

Barry Leef’s “Doobies, Eagles and West Coast Rock” show originally debuted at two
sellout shows (2000 per night) at Sydney’s “Twilight At Taronga” concert series in
February 2006. Following the first year’s success, The Barry Leef Band was rebooked
for the 2007 Twilight At Taronga series, and again sold out two consecutive
nights. But in 2009 the show did even better, selling out three nights and eventually
selling more tickets than any other act in the Twilight At Taronga series that year.
The show can be configured in a number of ways, but is usually either 1 x 75 to 90
minute set plus encores, or 1 x 45 min and 1 x 60 min set plus encores for concert
productions.

“DOOBIES, EAGLES AND WEST COAST ROCK” Show

Featuring The Barry Leef Band with Kimi Tupaea
Barry Leef’s “Doobies, Eagles & West Coast Rock” Show continues to go from strength to strength,
Since 2005 Barry has been leading this all-star nine-piece band of Sydney's best singers and
musicians in a show that pays tribute to some of the world’s favorite bands from the 60s, 70s and
80’s – The Doobie Brothers, The Eagles, Crosby Stills Nash & Young, Creedence Clearwater,
Santana and more.
Ex NZ patriot and one of Australia’s all-time great singers, Barry Leef has featured on over 170 TV
and radio advertisements during 20 years as Sydney’s number one session vocalist. He has also
fronted legendary Aussie bands Bakery and Supermarket, led the in-house band at Sydney’s
Musician’s club for ten years, and performed with Stevie Wonder, Frank Zappa, Elvin Bishop,
Tom Jones and Jeff “Skunk” Baxter to name a few.

As anyone over 30 will know, the bands featured in “Doobies, Eagles & West Coast Rock” had
over 100 worldwide hits between 1971 and 1990 and have all become staples of classic rock radio
over the past 25 years. Their music is diverse, sophisticated, danceable, loved universally by adult
music fans.

The key to kick starting the venture was discovering vocalist Kimi Tupaea, who has the
remarkable capacity to sound very much like one of the world’s most unique voices, Mike
McDonald, whose entry into The Doobie Brothers in the late 70’s reignited their success with a
second wave of big chart hits such as Takin' It to the Streets, What a Fool Believes, Little Darlin’,
and Minute by Minute.

Every song in the show is a proven favorite with audiences that grew up with this music, most of
whom now fit the huge “baby boomer” demographic, including –

The Doobie Brothers;                                   The Eagles;
