PLANNING YOUR TRIP - West Coast Fishing Club
CHECKING-IN AT LANDMARK AVIATION YVR
Guests should be at Landmark Aviation YVR (4360 Agar Drive, Richmond, B.C.) at 7:30 AM one hour before departure (Landmark Aviation is a
private and separate terminal from the main Vancouver terminal). Pay parking is available for guests at Landmark Aviation.
Our check-in counter is marked with WCFC signs. Guests will be greeted by our guest services representatives who will conduct a health
screening, take checked bags and provide boarding passes. Guests can expect to depart by 8:30 AM. Flying time is approximately 2 hours and
our arrival time in Masset is scheduled for 10:20 AM. In Masset, guests will be grouped for transfer to our helicopters for a 20-minute flight to
the lodge.

HEADING HOME
The departure schedule from the lodge will be based on “first in/first out”, that is the guests who flew into the lodge first on the arrival day
will be the first to leave on departure day. Guests will fly out via our helicopters and then board our charter flight for the return to Vancouver.
Arrival time at Landmark Aviation in Vancouver is set for 3:00 PM. We recommend that any connecting flights not be scheduled for at least two (2)
hours for national flights and three (3) hours for international flights after our scheduled arrival time.

HOW TO PACK
Luggage is strictly limited to 25 pounds per person including carry-on luggage and any fishing gear you bring. We have free, secured lock-up
storage available in Vancouver for your excess baggage and would be happy to store it for you. Please pack your gear in soft-sided luggage
for ease of aircraft loading. Due to limited space on helicopters your luggage may not arrive on the same helicopter you do.
*In order to minimize delays waiting for your fishing clothing, we strongly suggest you travel with a small carry-on bag. Make sure it contains
anything you will need immediately upon your arrival including medications and fishing clothing, as your baggage may arrive a few hours
behind you. This will allow you to head out on the water right away.
*Please note on the return flight to Vancouver you are limited to 70 lbs per person which includes your 25 lbs of baggage AND fish should you
choose not to have your fish processed.

WHAT TO PACK
The weather in Haida Gwaii can be unpredictable. On average, the daily high temperature during our season is around 17°C (max.26°C) with
lows of 11°C. Be prepared with:

                                 • Warm clothes for fishing • Shorts/Swimsuit (hot tub: The Clubhouse & The Outpost)
                                 • Light long underwear • Seasickness remedies
                                 • Walking shoes • Wool or polar fleece sweater
                                 • Prescription medications • Windbreaker
                                 • Wool or polar fleece socks • Sunscreen and sunglasses

Top of the line waterproof rain gear and rubber boots are provided for your comfort out on the water. Our suits provide an excellent barrier from
the rain and wind, but are light-weight so it is important to pack additional layers for underneath to be prepared for all weather conditions.
