Another wave… waiting for the vaccine.

• The situation in the past days had worsened, so new restrictions until Easter.

• Different restrictions depending on the colour. Only Sardinia has a quite normal situation.

• Vaccination in Italy.

• Slowed by shortage in distribution and logistics and now from stopping Astra Zeneca vaccine.

• Now around 7.200.000 doses and 2.150.000 people fully vaccinated.

• New plans gives 80% of the population vaccinated within the end of the summer.

                                                                                                 5

On which tasks do you focus most on at the moment at work?

• Programming for summer 2021 has been done and in some cases they are working for winter
  2021/22
• Training webinars for travel agents or for end consumers.
• Keeping the relationship with suppliers and clients alive.

How are the outlooks for this year?

• Not good, the new wave is keeping far the restart
• Some TOs have some requests (both groups and FITs), some for summer (from July on) and some
  for next winter.
• The situation is unclear but they are ready to take any opportunity given by the market.

                                                                                                7

•How are the bookings for Norway compared to other destinations?

• Some TOs have some requests (both groups and FITs), some for summer and some for next winter.
• Norway and the Nordics are considered among “the places to go” but most of the clients are still
waiting to see the evolution of the situation.
• Many of the clients who booked in 2020 are still “on hold” to travel to Norway in 2021.
• Same situation for other destinations.

                                                                                                     8

What do you need from Norwegian partners/suppliers in the time to come?

• Flexibility! (most of all on cancellation fees).
• Collaboration now and in the future.
• Do not facilitate direct bookings and strengthen the collaboration with the TOs.
• Create new products.
• Information both regarding Covid and the destination (newsletters from all the actors in the travel
  industry).
• Multimedia material.

                                                                                                        9

What can we do for you to help the current situation? How can we be of
help?

• Keep the level of information high. Utterly important to know any change in Covid times.
• Keep promoting the destination both for its traditional assets (e.g. nature) and as safe country
  (underlining the “green” values).
• Keep on training tour operator staffs and travel agencies.
• Increase the occasions to meet suppliers (so far very good results for NTW and Norway Insights)

                                                                                                     10
• What kind of digital events (workshops/webinars/meeting places) in
2021 would you prioritize participating at?

• Webinars
• Workshops
• Virtual fairs
• Virtual fam trips
• NTW

                                                                       11
Is there anything else you want to share with us?

• All new digital activities carried out by Visit Norway are appreciated but people are still craving for
  physical meetings
• It will be important to create “corridors” to enable traffic to/from countries that are compliant with
Covid rules and regulations (tests before and at the arrival, etc.).
• Norway considered a safe and sustainable destination.

                                                                                                            12
Which travel advice is there in your country at the moment?

• At the moment a new wave is affecting the country and we have restrictions in travelling also from
town to town. The suggestion is not to travel and if a traveller is coming back from abroad, they
have to be tested or there is a 14-days quarantine.

How is business affected in your market?

• Travel market is severely affected.
• The waves of the virus following one each other do not allow to plan or start again a “normal”
  business.
• At the moment the closures of TAs are not so high as expected.

                                                                                                       13
• How is the work situation right now?

• Governmental actions to prevent layoffs are still keeping the situation “on hold” and there are plans
to extend these actions until June.
• Important to see when and how the situation will recover to understand the full impact on the
  travel industry.

                                                                                                          14

AIGO and travel consul present the new study to measure the covid-19 impact on the global
travel distribution

• Four months after the first edition, they have updated the research data ”The impact of Covid-19
on travel distribution – September 2020” to better understand the consequences of the crisis and
conclude indications to support the sector.
• Over 1,000 tour operators and travel agents across the main markets participated in the survey,
  which ended on September 28th
• Findings show a sector that is still very fragile, suffering from uncertainty about the recovery that is
difficult to foresee in the immediate future. However, few interesting trends emerged from the
survey: attention to the destination's ability to manage the emergency, safety measures adopted
  and quality of the health system; solo travel and appreciation for individual or small groups travels;
very flexible cancellation policies. In the short term: the rise of domestic or proximity tourism.

                                                                                                             17
