Can I travel during Government Restrictions?
Yes, as long as you are following all instructions and guidance valid at the time you travel.

Please follow the following measures

Wear a face covering. To travel on public transport, you must wear a face covering. Whilst the covering does
not need to be a mask, it does need to cover your mouth and nose. Please be aware that certain passengers
are exempt from wearing face coverings including children under the age of 11 and people with breathing
difficulties. You can check exemptions here.

Maintain your distance. Wherever possible, please keep a 2-metre distance from others at all times. Follow
one-way systems and queuing instructions from staff on trains and at stations.

Book tickets online. Avoid buying tickets on the day at the station ticket offices and machines, you can order
your tickets from your company portal, we will shortly be adding weekly, monthly and bundles of tickets to
      your portal.

Carry hand sanitiser and wash your hands before and after travel. Wash your hands with soap and water for at
least 20 seconds. While you are travelling, carry and use an alcohol-based hand sanitiser.

Avoid travelling during peak hours. Where possible, travel at less busy times, you can check the status of
      trains here.

Do not travel if you feel unwell. To reduce the rate of transmission it is very important that you do not travel if
you or someone you live with has symptoms of COVID-19

                                                                                                                            5
What are train companies doing to make things safer?
Train companies have made a safer travel pledge to help combat the spread of COVID-19.

Add more trains and additional carriages into timetables to make more room to help with social distancing.

Display new social distancing signs so that passengers know where to go and aid with staying 2 metres apart
     more easily and avoiding crowds.

Use of fogging machines on trains to distribute antibacterial mists through out carriages and ensuring trains and
stations cleaning regimes are at an all-time high.

Restock soap more often on trains and at stations so it is easier for passengers to keep their hands clean.

Install face covering and hand sanitiser vending machines so that passengers can easily buy what they require.

Install hand sanitiser points at many larger stations so that passengers can protect themselves on the move.

Alert passengers to busy trains via Messenger app. Search National Rail on the Messenger app to get started.

Deploy up to 2,500 additional staff to help passengers with their journeys.

                                                                                                                          6
Do I need a seat reservation?

ensure social distancing can be maintained. If you travel with one of the following,
you can connect with them from this page.
