MAYOR’S MESSAGE
The weather may have cooled down, but this hasn’t stopped our
Parks & Recreation Department from planning fun and exciting
programs and events to keep you and your family active and healthy
this winter. The Town strives to provide a variety of programs to meet
the varying interests of our residents.

The New Year is a great time to start a new fitness program, introduce
your child to a new sport or just try something new. Recreation programs
are a great way to improve your health and meet new people. We hope you
find a program that meets you and your family’s needs.

The winter can be a long and dreadful time of year, why not gather up the
family and participate in some of the Town events including Snowfest, Family
Skates, or our Walk the Island Challenge for families. These events are a great
way to help you and your family enjoy some quality time together.

Remember to check out our Facebook and Twitter pages regularly for updates
on all that we have to offer.

QUALITY RECREATION
The Town of Cornwall is a HIGH FIVE® Certified Organization
The Town is happy to be a community partner in HIGH FIVE® Canada’s quality standard for children's recreation and
sport. Before HIGH FIVE, no standard existed and there was a clear need for an innovative approach to help
organizations enhance program quality and provide positive experiences for children, which would remain with
them for a lifetime.

Today, HIGH FIVE holds true to the five Principles of healthy child development that the research indicates are
essential for quality programs:

                              1) A caring Adult

                              2) The opportunity to make Friends

                              3) The opportunity to Play

                              4) The opportunity to Master Skills

                              5) The opportunity to Participate

Do you have Feedback on our Recreation Programs?
The Town of Cornwall is always looking for ways to increase the quality of programs. If you have feedback regarding
your program experience, please let us know at: recreation@cornwallpe.ca or call Recreation Coordinator at
