The one simple way to protect yourself after a car accident.
Car accidents are daunting, especially if you happen to be the one at fault. Here’s what you need to do to make the
aftermath as smooth as possible.
Car accidents can be traumatic, and their aftermath intimidating to manage due to long, complicated processes. That’s when
the Mercedes-Benz Body Care & Repair Center comes in as a one-stop platform for all your accident needs, to provide the
right support that makes the post-accident process as smooth and stress-free as possible.
Our authorised service center is only a call away, and provides a full range of hassle-free services from carrying out top-
notch repair work, to guiding you through the insurance claims process. Our service advisors are always ready to provide
proactive, personalised service to give you peace of mind every step of the way.
First, these are the four things to do right after a car accident:
Step 1: Check for injuries In the event of any personal injuries aside from property damage, be
sure to call 999 or 995 right away for help.
Step 2: Exchange particulars with • Name • Insurance company
the parties involved: • Driving license number • Vehicle registration number
• Contact number
Step 3: Take photographs/videos Capture photographs of the surrounding areas and anything useful to
and record accident details contextualise the accident — did it happen at a busy junction, on the
expressway, or perhaps in a carpark? Next, take footage of the damage
to all other vehicles involved, making sure their license plates are visible.
Be sure to also record the accident date, time, exact location and
weather conditions as well.
Step 4: Report the accident When the above is done, move your car to a safe location and call for
24-hour roadside assistance at 6475 9500. The operator will send a
towing service if your vehicle is not safe for driving, and take your car to
the Mercedes-Benz Body Care & Repair Center where experts are ready
to take over. Remember to download the accident footage from your
in-car DVR, if any, to safeguard it from being overwritten.
When to make a police report:
Some traffic accidents have to be accompanied by a police report, which you can make at any police station. Be sure to do
so within 24 hours if your crash involves any of the following scenarios:
• Someone is injured and sent to the hospital • It’s a park-and-found case
• A pedestrian or cyclist is involved • It’s a hit-and-run case
• A Government vehicle is involved • If it happens in Malaysia, where every motor accident must be
• A foreign vehicle is involved reported to the police, foreigners can turn to the Tourist Police

One more tip for the savvy Mercedes-Benz driver:
• If you are at fault, encourage the other party to contact the Mercedes-Benz Body Care & Repair Center at 6206 1818 (if the other
vehicle is a Mercedes-Benz), or the DPS Body & Paint Centre at 6568 4501 (if the vehicle make is of a non-Cycle & Carriage brand).
• This simple but powerful move will ensure that the third party’s vehicle gets a fair damage analysis, protecting you against excessive
insurance claims. Beyond that, our reliable team of qualified technicians will also ensure that the third party’s vehicle is repaired to
professional standards.

Q. Are hybrid cars and V-Class models entitled to Cycle & Carriage’s 10-Year
Engine Warranty?
A. Yes, hybrid cars and V-Class models are entitled to the warranty. However, full EQ electric cars or commercial
vehicles (including those used for reward hire or other commercial purposes such as private-hire, rental, etc., or for
public services such as the police, the military, etc.) are not eligible for the engine warranty.
Q. I own a C-Class W204 which is compatible for a Mercedes me Adapter (MMA)
retrofit. How should I get started to have my car connected?
A. You can simply purchase the Mercedes me Adapter (retailing at $138) via the myMB eShop or receive one
complimentary with purchase of any Star Care+ Maintenance Plan (read more about this in CARenhancements).
