   • Provisional Fellowship Year (PFY)
   • Registrars (incl. trainees)
   • Principal House Officers (PHOs)
   • Senior House Officers (SHOs)
   • Junior House Officers (JHOs)

Applicants MUST review all the information in the RMO website prior to completing an application:
   • Campaign dates (referee reports due date, cut offs, offer dates, preference rounds etc.)
   • How the campaign works
   • How to apply
   • Application documentation
   • Trainees/registrars and PHOs need to review the following webpages:
           o Specialty training programs
o Participating hospital contacts and profiles
o available positions via the Position search tool
   • JHO and SHOs need to review the following webpages:
o Additional requirements for House Officers
o available positions via the Position search tool

Paper applications will not be accepted

PATHWAY SECTION
All applicants seeking specialty training positions in Queensland MUST apply via the RMO campaign.
As detailed above, Queensland Health offers a centralised recruitment and selection process for a
number of training programs but not all.

Applicants need to review the Specialty training programs page on the RMO website for further
clarification as to the ‘entity’ that conducts the recruitment, selection and allocation for your preferred
specialty. The three options include recruit and selection processes conducted directly by;
    • the Specialist medical
    • a Queensland Health accredited training facility
    • a Queensland training pathway, network or program

Queensland Health vocational training pathways, networks and central programs manage the
recruitment, selection and allocation of training positions and require you to complete specific questions
within the RMO campaign application. These specialty programs include;
    • Anaesthesia
    • Basic paediatric
    • Basic physician
    • Cardiology
    • Endocrinology
    • Gastroenterology
    • General medicine
    • General paediatric
    • Geriatric medicine
    • Haematology (laboratory and clinical)
    • Infectious diseases
    • Intensive care medicine
    • Medical oncology
    • Neonatal and perinatal medicine
    • Nephrology
    • Palliative medicine
    • Pathology
    • Radiation oncology
    • Respiratory medicine

Once you have successfully lodged your RMO application (including any specific application
requirements for your preferred training program) you will be consider for placement according to the
established process for that program. Upon selection, an employment contract would be formalised
with the relevant Queensland Health facility.

STEP 10: PREFERENCES
The campaign offers applicants the opportunity to preference up to five positions of choice within the
preferences section of the online RMO application. Complete by preferencing your preferred facility,
position level, specialty and sub-specialty (if applicable) from one (1) to five (5); with 1 being your
highest preference and 5 being your lowest preference.

                                                                                                  8|Page
Applicants are unable to preference six-month rotations at two different facilities. If you wish to apply for
multiple rotations, you should arrange these positions directly with the facilities involved or the training
program coordinator. In this instance, you should preference the facility for the first six months as your
first preference and the facility for the second six months as your second preference.
