Sprockids
This is a popular volunteer lead program designed for children keen to mountain bike for 60-90 minutes in a group setting on
trails. Children must be able to ride a pedal bike (no training wheels). The program focuses on bike handling, stunts, trail riding
skills and safety. There are no toilets on the trail, and children have to be independent managing this. Please contact us if you’d
like to consider volunteering at 250-923-7911.

Sprockids registration begins March 6, 2020

Basic Amateur (Ham) Radio Certification Course FREE
All ages
Amateur radio brings people, electronics and communication together. People use ham radio to talk across town and
around the world, all without the Internet or cell phones. It can be a lifeline during times of need. Attending all class dates
is encouraged, but not mandatory. Some knowledge of electricity or electronics is helpful, but not essential. Certificates are
awarded upon passing the basic exam and are good for life. Once you achieve your certification if you would like to learn
more the Campbell River Amateur Radio Society and the Campbell River Emergency Communication teams exist to help new
hams develop their skillset further. This course is offered free through the Strathcona Emergency Program.
