INTELLIGENT SERVICES

ACTIVITIES

Key Feature                                 Description
Events                                      Events are changes that occur within the SAP SuccessFactors
                                            HXM Suite. Any SAP SuccessFactors solution can raise events.

Publisher                                   A publisher is the SAP SuccessFactors application where job or
                                            employee changes are initiated.

Subscriber                                  A subscriber can either be an SAP SuccessFactors solution or a
                                            third-party application that is set up to receive notifications for
                                            events.

                                            A notification is a call to action, to individual Users or to
Notifications
                                            subscribers.

ADMINISTRATION
Key Feature                                 Description
Intelligent Services Center                 Configure and monitor intelligent services events,
                                            subscribers, and notifications using the Intelligent
                                            Services Center.

External Event Notification Subscriptions   Configure external or third-party subscribers to receive
                                            notifications for intelligent services events.

Event Notification Subscription Audit Log   Monitor the status of external event notifications and view
                                            details about each notification using different filter options.

INTEGRATION CENTER

Integration Center                          Users without any technical knowledge can create simple

                                            guided workflows, as made available.

Inbound Integration          Data can be written into SAP SuccessFactors system

Data Formats                 Following file formats are supported: CSV, Simple
                             Delimited, EDI / Stacked, XML, JSON.

Predefined Templates         Standard templates are available as a starting point to
                             help saving time and effort. Available via the SAP API
                             HUB.

EMPLOYEE PROFILE
Key Feature                  Description
Public Profile               View a public “snapshot” view of a User, displaying basic
                             details like profile photo, contact information, local time,
                             position, and other public information about the User.

Custom Profile Views         Create different “custom views” for use in different
                             business processes. Configure what information is
                             displayed in each view and control who has permission to
                             see it. For example, a “talent profile” might show the
                             employee's past work experience, skills and
                             competencies, or education. A “talent scorecard” could
                             display past performance ratings or development goals.

Profile Data Import/Export   Import and export profile data in CSV format. Use the
                             CSV file to synchronize Employee Profile with an external
                             HRIS or other third-party system.

Employee Profile Reporting   Generate improvised reports on employee profile data
                             using our reporting tools.

Badges                       Use badges for employee recognition. Users can give and
                             receive badges that will appear on the recipient’s profile.

Tags                         Use tags to enable Users to make themselves more
                             discoverable in the organization. They can add tags to
                             their profile, such as expertise, responsibilities, interests,
                             and hobbies that other Users can search and find in the
                             employee directory.

HOME PAGE
Key Feature              Description
Personalized Home Page   The SAP SuccessFactors home page the entry point to
                         the SAP SuccessFactors HXM Suite. It is the default
                         landing page and the first thing most Users see after
                         logging in. Administrators can configure the default home
                         page for their company and individual Users can
                         personalize their home page to suit their specific needs.

To-Dos                   The home page includes a personal to-do list, displaying
                         an employee’s assigned tasks and required actions, from
                         any part of the SAP SuccessFactors application. See
                         when each task is due and how many days are left to
                         complete it. Take action on any to-do directly from the
                         home page.

Home Page Tiles          Home page tiles highlight important information from
                         across the SAP SuccessFactors HXM Suite, including
                         SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central, SAP
                         SuccessFactors Learning, SAP SuccessFactors
                         Workforce Analytics, and SAP Jam. Use home page tiles
                         to take action directly from the home page. Administrators
                         can select and arrange tiles on the default home page.

Custom Tiles             Administrators can create custom tiles and add them to
                         the home page. Use the built-in rich text editor or enter
                         standard HTML to create a custom tile. Define the target
                         audience and active dates for each custom tile.

SEARCH
Key Feature              Description
Talent Search            Search for talent in the organization using talent search.
                         Find people based on advanced criteria such as
                         education or work history, performance, and competency
                         ratings, to identify Users with those criteria.

People Search            Find people in the organization using the people search.
                         Search by first, middle, or last name, or by username.
                         Users of SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central can also
                         search by localized alternate names. From search results,
                         open anyone's employee quickcard or link to the
                         employee directory for more advanced search options.

Employee Quickcard       View basic User information on the employee quickcard,
                         such as name, title, contact information, and photo. Link
                         from the quickcard to the employee profile and to other
                         information related to the employee, such as talent
                         management forms. Open the quickcard, in context, from
                         many places throughout the SAP SuccessFactors
                         application where a person is mentioned, from the people
                         search results or from the org chart.

Action Search                                        Use action search to navigate the SAP SuccessFactors
                                                     HXM Suite. Search for dozens of common actions directly
                                                     from the global search box and take action directly from
                                                     search results. Administrators can configure and optimize
                                                     action search by adding search terms and editing display
                                                     labels or by adding custom actions.

Employee Directory                                   Search for and discover others with the employee
                                                     directory, which provides advanced search tools to filter
                                                     the results.

ORGANIZATIONAL CHART
Key Feature                                          Description
Basic Org Chart                                      Use the org chart to browse the organization and
                                                     understand department structure and reporting
                                                     relationships. Find people in the organization and discover
                                                     more about them using the employee quickcard. See
                                                     information about a person’s alternate managers, either
                                                     direct or matrix.

Succession Org Chart (optional)                      The succession org chart is a configurable organizational
                                                     chart showing talent planning information. It can also be
                                                     based on a position hierarchy, including vacant (“TBH”)
                                                     positions. *

Position Org Chart (optional)                        The position org chart is a graphical representation of
                                                     positions in the organization, who occupies them, and
                                                     how they relate to other positions, whether those are
                                                     higher-level positions, lower-level positions, or peer
                                                     positions.

JOB PROFILE BUILDER
Key Feature                       Description
Job Profile Content Management    Find, add, and edit the content used to populate job
                                  profiles. Use the competency library and skills library add-
                                  ons to add out-of-the-box, industry-verified content.

Job Profile Template Management   Use job profile templates and easy-to-use rich text editing
                                  (RTE) capabilities to create a consistent look-and-feel for
                                  job profiles across job families.

Workflow                          Workflows assure administrators and management that
                                  job profiles have been thoroughly reviewed before
                                  publishing.

Skill Profile Portlet             Users can see the expected skill proficiency levels
                                  required for success in their job. Managers can
                                  transparently rate their staff against those skills.

Employee Acknowledgment           Meet compliance needs by ensuring employee
                                  acknowledgement of changes. Administrators can
                                  automatically notify Users of changes to their job profile
                                  and give them the ability to easily view and acknowledge
                                  these changes. Additionally, administrators can report on
                                  the status of these acknowledgment requests.

PRESENTATIONS

Upload Content                    Upload Microsoft PowerPoint or Adobe PDF files to the
                                  SAP SuccessFactors HXM Suite for use in presentations.

Add Live Slides                   Live slides display dynamic live content within the
                                  presentations, such as organizational charts, succession
                                  plans and compensation details. Select from a range of
                                  generally available live slides displaying data from SAP
                                  SuccessFactors solutions.

Hotspots                          Hotspots are a clickable area on an uploaded static slide,
                                  which opens a hyperlink or displays a talent card with
                                  information about an employee.

Modify Slide Sequence             Change the order of slides. Combine slides from multiple
                                  presentations into one. Move slides from one presentation
                                  to another.

Manage Talent Cards               Design talent cards that display detailed information about
                                  individuals in the presentations.

Deliver Presentations             Display presentations in full-screen mode that blend static
                                  and live content.

                            Excel & PowerPoint, or CSV formats.

Scheduling and Delivery     Schedule reports to be sent to FTP at specific times.

Security                    Share important information securely across the
                            organization with role-based security and permissions.

CANVAS
Key Feature                 Description
Report - Canvas             The Report - Canvas is a drag-and-drop reporting tool
                            used to design formatted, multi-page, presentation-ready
                            reports on live data. Data can be displayed as
                            transactional lists or pivot tables and charts. Create
                            custom calculated columns to concatenate fields,
                            mathematical expressions, if/then/else statements and
                            substrings.

                            Adobe PDF, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, & Word, and

                            Available for download from the success store, within the
Standard Tiles

Drill to Details            Drill down to the employee level to review transactional
                            details, view quick card details about an employee, and
                            initiate actions from the same place.

Tile Builder                Administrators can create their own tiles using a wizard
                            and set permission to use these tiles.

Filters                     Filter data so the same tile works for multiple roles – for
                            example, a manager team view or an HR view.

STORY
Key Feature                 Description
Story                       Stories are where data comes to life with powerful data
                            visualizations. Charts, graphs, tables, and other visual
                            elements are arranged to tell the story of the business or
                            organization and help discover insights hidden within
                            complex data.

Output Formats              Adobe PDF, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and CSV.

EXTENSION FRAMEWORKS

EXTENSION CENTER

Extension Center                                  Extension Center can be used to build new applications
                                                  that extend the SAP SuccessFactors solution or to modify
                                                  out-of-the-box SAP SuccessFactors applications built on
                                                  the extension center platform (also known as Metadata
                                                  Framework or MDF).

                                                  Extension Center allows administrators to create and
                                                  manage new SAP SuccessFactors Extensions through
                                                  configuration, without any coding. SAP SuccessFactors
                                                  Extensions are custom applications configured to process
                                                  employee-centric business needs. Customer can also use
                                                  Extension Center to complete admin tasks for SAP Cloud
                                                  Platform extensions.

Guided flow to build and edit extensions          Provides a guided flow across different extension artifacts
                                                  like extension objects, business rules, workflows,
                                                  extension user interface, permissions etc.

Integrated view for Admin of SAP SuccessFactors   Provides administrators with an integrated view of SAP
Extensions and SAP Cloud Platform Extensions      SuccessFactors Extensions along with SAP Cloud
                                                  Platform installed extensions, their access points (such as
                                                  home page tiles), connectivity, and authorization
                                                  configurations.

RULES ENGINE

Rule Scenarios                                    “Templates” that support Customer in defining rules for

INSTANCE MANAGEMENT

INSTANCE REFRESH
Key Feature                    Description
Refresh                        Schedule a refresh to copy data and configurations
                               from a source instance to a target instance, without
                               impacting integrations set up in the target instance.
                               A submitted refresh request can be canceled before
                               its scheduled date.

Monitoring                     Check the status of a submitted refresh. Monitor the
                               progress of the refresh through each step. An email
                               notification is also sent for every status change.
                               Download the log file to fix errors or warnings in
                               your submitted refresh.

Data Anonymization             Personal data fields are anonymized so that the
                               user whose data is being refreshed remains
                               unrecognized.

INSTANCE SYNC
Key Feature                    Description
Synchronization                Select the required configuration and/or data that
                               you want to copy them from a source instance to a
                               target instance.

Reusable Sync Packages         Sync packages enable you to reuse sync jobs, so
                               you don’t have to create them from scratch each
                               time. Save, edit, and reuse sync packages to
                               streamline your instance management process.

Key Feature                                Description
 Test Sync                                  A test sync enables you to troubleshoot potential
                                            errors before anything is copied from one instance
                                            to another. If your test is successful, you know you
                                            can go ahead with a true sync from the source to
                                            the target.

 Monitor Sync Jobs                          Check the status of submitted sync jobs and view
                                            details about each job. Job details enable you to
                                            track changes and troubleshoot errors. Download
                                            a report with details about the sync job.

 Comparing Data Models                      Compare data models between the source instance
                                            and the target instance, so you can identify
                                            discrepancies that might cause an error. Download
                                            the data model XML file for the source and target
                                            instances, prior to running your sync.

SOCIAL COLLABORATION WITH SAP JAM
SAP Jam delivers social collaboration, connecting people with information, applications, and
processes to help solve business-critical problems and drive results, on the Web or on a
mobile device. For further information, please refer to the SAP Jam Collaboration, basic
edition specification document.

ADMINISTRATOR TRAINING
SAP SuccessFactors Foundation includes a ticket to the Administrator training series. This
includes asynchronous, web-based training content designed to train administrators on how
to use the SAP SuccessFactors administration tools. The training currently includes courses
on Introduction to Administration, Performance and Goals, 360 Reviews, Calibration,
Learning, Recruiting Management, Recruiting Marketing, Succession and Development,
Employee Central, Compensation, Variable Pay, SAP Jam, Onboarding, Workforce Analytics,
Workforce Planning, and Reporting. (This list is subject to change at SAP’s sole discretion.)
For further details see the Training section of the SAP SuccessFactors Customer Community.
Please note: The public VLC Learning Working Smarter series, Learning Report Designer,
and other public VLC Administrator training classes are not included in the SAP
SuccessFactors Foundation Administrator Training series.
