            • Low uptake in some provinces
Rationale • Not al learners are aware of NSFAS
            • Not all learners apply (on time)
            • Some learners struggle to complete a form
            • Supporting documents often incorrect (no money to
              come back again)
            • Connectivity- Learners do not have access to
              computers to apply online

NSFAS
• In partnership with DBE, schools will become our
key vehicle in extending our reach to every learner
    in every Secondary School
• Facilitate engagements and manage a project plan
    that will ensure successful implementation
• Avail resources to sensitize schools and
communities on the application process (online
or manually) depending on the infrastructure
    available.
• Provide manual application forms, barcodes, boxes
and other required stationery for application season
    2020.
Schools and SGBs
 Schools will become the key vehicle for applications in
      2020
 SMTs and SGBs should conscientize parents about the
application process and their role in ensuring that required
documents are available for each applicant to complete
      their application process.
 SGBs to ensure the required resources are available in
order for the online and manual processes to be
      completed
 This will ensure better management of Online
Applications in order to minimize physical application
      and document collections
 Where infrastructure is not available, schools should make
use of libraries, teacher training centres youth and other
community resource centers to assist learners with the
    application process.
