county seat of Lemhi county which is nestled in a mountain valley
formed by the Lemhi and Salmon rivers. The town is surrounded by
National Forests and the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness.
Outdoor activities are a passion for the people in Lemhi County,
particularly whitewater rafting, snowmobiling, skiing, motorsports,

location for the retired. Salmon is the birthplace of Sacajawea, the
famous guide and interpreter for the Lewis and Clark expedition

her. Salmon has a modern hospital and has an ever growing airport
