Solar Eclipse Cruise on the Magellan
                             15 – 27 March 2015

A total solar eclipse will occur on 20th March 2015 off the coast of the remote Faroe Islands. This
special maiden cruise aboard Magellan will take you there to witness this phenomenon and
hopefully, the amazing ‘solar corona’. This spectacular cruise will visit the Scottish Highlands,
Shetland and Faroe Islands plus Iceland – the ‘Land of Ice and Fire’, where it may be possible to view
the Aurora Borealis or Northern Lights.

Join Eclipse of the Century on this unique cruise itinerary aboard Magellan cruising off the coast of
the Faroe Islands. Visit the Scottish Highlands from Invergordon, the Shetland and Faroe Islands and
Iceland’s capital of Reykjavik offering the chance to search for the spectacular Northern Lights. This
will be the last total solar eclipse visible in Europe until August 2026. To witness such an event is a
singularly memorable experience not to be missed.

Your Ship

The Magellan will carry about 1250 passengers accommodated in 726 cabins spanning nine passenger decks
serviced by eight lifts. Her wide corridors and stairways and expansive deck areas with wood type decking in
many areas exude a real feeling of spaciousness with a wide range of comfortable well appointed lounges and
panoramic seating and observation areas ideally suited to our scenic cruise programme.

Combining expansive, comfortable surroundings and friendly service with stylish entertainment and delicious
cuisine, Magellan is the perfect choice for those looking for a greater range of on board facilities. However, she
still retains a feel of intimacy and personal attention when compared with the ‘mega’ resort style ships built
today. No climbing walls or ice-skating rinks and no kids!

and service, whichever grade of accommodation you decide best suits your holiday requirements. There are
fifteen categories of cabins and suites, primarily graded according deck position and even in the most
economical cabins, the standard features are impressive.

Magellan Leisure Facilities
Magellan offers a traditional maritime experience in spacious surroundings. Discover a wide range of
comfortable lounges and stylish leisure facilities to enrich your time on board.

Her wide range of public facilities include the impressive Waldorf and Kensington Restaurants offering two
sitting dining or the more informal Raffles Bistro. There are comfortable lounge areas throughout including the
two-tier theatre style Magellan Show Lounge, and a wide range of other amenities. Out on deck, there are two
swimming pools, three whirlpools and expansive deck areas.

Restaurants

Our maitre’d and his attentive waiting staff will welcome you to the elegant Waldorf or Kensington
Restaurants where you can opt for a full English breakfast, savour a leisurely five-course lunch and enjoy a
delightful dinner every day of your cruise. Whilst breakfasts and lunches are generally served in the restaurant
on an open seating basis, two fixed time sittings are operated for dinner in the evening. As a casual alternative,
the light and airy Raffles Bistro is open every day for buffet style breakfast, lunches and dinner. Here
informality is the key and you can feel free to drop in without any ceremony. The Pool Deck lends itself
particularly well to al fresco meals so a buffet breakfast or lunch from the Bistro can be served up with a
complimentary ocean view!
