maple, myrtlewood would qualify as one of the great exotic
tonewoods, but it’s native! It grows—gnarled, strong and
beautiful—on Oregon’s rainy, windswept Pacific coast, just 90
miles from Bend. Breedlove, in fact, led the charge in using myrtle

selling Oregon series. Denser than Sitka spruce, myrtlewood—as

Tonal Balance and Richness of Traditional Tonewoods
While Oregon myrtlewood may be denser than Sitka spruce, it pairs with it to create guitars that fly past
all others, surpassing the sound, tonal balance and richness of more traditional tonewood combinations.
Our Sitka, from rugged stock, straight and true, is sustainably sourced. We never harvest these magnificent
trees but work with Alaska Specialty Woods to salvage blown down trunks, often nearly 600 years old,
from the forest floor, contributing to the health of the biosphere while putting a supreme instrument in
your hands. Individually crafted in Bend, with all native tonewoods and the remarkable benefits of Sound
Optimization®, each Oregon Concert soft cutaway spruce/myrtle model, available in Natural or Whiskey
