DAY 3 TUESDAY
         18/6/19

        The Safari begins
Today we set out early for the drive to
Maramboi Tented Camp, located in the
Lake Manyara area. We will visit a
Maasai Village in Monduli Juu where you
will get to experience the maasai culture,
traditions, and lifestyle. You will see a
traditional boma consisting of a variety
of “houses” which are in essence small
huts made of mud and cow dung. You will
have the opportunity to go for a short
guided hike towards the Rift Valley floor
if you choose. We will return to Monduli
Juu campsite for a private lunch where
you will be treated to goat cooked the
traditional way.

Upon arrival at Maramboi Tented Camp,
take a dip in the pool and watch Zebra's
graze before happy hour. For the more
adventurous, you can also take a guided
walk with one of the local Maasai to the
edge of Lake Manyara, passing zebras
and wildebeest along the way. After
dinner you can relax by the fire pit.
Spirit of Place - Tanzania Discovery Tours
Today begins early with a full day game drive of the Tarangire
DAY 4 National Park. Tarangire is outstanding, seasonally, for wildlife. The
park is famous for its high density of elephants and baobab trees.
WEDNESDAY You can expect to see large herds of zebra, wildebeest, giraffe and
cape buffalo. Lions are quite easily spotted at this time, as well. A
19/6/19 lunch box is provided and you will return to Maramboi in time for
dinner and a few cheeky wines.
Spirit of Place - Tanzania Discovery Tours
After a buffet breakfast, we drive to Lake Manyara where you will
DAY 5 enjoy a sky-high adventure through the beautiful forest of Lake
Manyara on a 370m Treetop Walkway.
THURSDAY
We will then head to Gibbs Farm situated atop a hill in the heart of
20/6/19 Africa’s Great Rift Valley, with lush coffee plantations stretching
as far as the eye can see. This magnificently renovated 1920’s
homestead steeped in history is one of Tanzania's most revered
safari lodges. Gibb's Farm imparts a sense of well-being,
tranquility and history—deeply rooted in African culture and
community—in a warm, rustic luxury environment.
Today we are up early to descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a
DAY 6 large, unbroken, un-flooded caldera, formed when a giant volcano
exploded and collapsed some three million years ago. There is a
FRIDAY huge range of animal species represented year round in
the Ngorongoro Crater, including lions, leopards, cheetahs,
21/6/19 hyenas, elephants, hippos and rhinos, plus a vast array of bird-
life. A real special of the crater is the black rhino. The
Ngorongoro crater sinks to a depth of 610 metres, with a base
area covering 260 square kilometres. The height of the original
volcano is thought to have ranged between 4,500 to 5,800 metres
          high.

After our game drive, we drive to the Empakai Crater in the
Ngorongo Highlands where we will begin our hike descending into
the crater to experience the large alkaline soda lake. The lake is
an important food source for the resident flamingoes, which can
be seen throughout the year. Our crew will set up camp and
dinner will be served shortly after we return.
